Dental Health Program

On 22nd September 2023, Friday, VKV (NEEPCO) BOKULONI held a Dental check-up program for Nursery and K.G students. The program started with Mangalacharan. Dr. Nabanita Aich was invited for the program. Smt. Meghna Kakoty, Principal VKV (NEEPCO) BOKULONI felicitated her with a Fulam Gamusa and a token of love prepared by the students as a part of campaign 'Skill Bokuloni'. In a comprehensive way the doctor made the kids understand how to take care of one’s dental health followed by a dental check up.

Vishwakarma Puja

Vishwakarma Puja was solemnized in the Vidyalaya to worship the machineries and instruments on 18 September 2023. Lord Vishwakarma is worshipped as the architects of  Gods. Teachers and staff members offered prayer. Prasad and sweets were distributed.

Shankardev Tirobhav Tithi

The Vidyalaya observed Sri Sri Shankardev's 455 Tirobhav Tithi on 16th September. To observe the holy event both the primary and secondary assemblies were clubbed together. After the assembly a group of class IX and X students performed a Diha Naam and all the students took part in the Naam Prasanga. It was resounded with a spiritual zeal. An enlightened speech was delivered by Shabnam Didi. She highlighted on the artistic and literary contributions of the great scholar to build the base of Assamese art, culture and literature stronger and bolder. Class IX and X students wore Assamese traditional attire and visited the nearby Namghar and performed Naam to pay homage to the great saints teachings and creations.

UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD DAY

VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni celebrated Universal Brotherhood Day to honour the 130th historic Chicago Speech of Swami Vivekananda. Six guests were invited from the nearby localities who are skilled in different fields; Palash Saikia, an Agriculturalist, Samiran Borah an Entrepreneur and Mushroom cultivator, Chenehi Gogoi, Nature Activist, Tikheswar Chetia Retd. Mathematics Teacher with his own YouTube channel, Dulal Barua, Mask Artist (Bhaona Artefacts). Smt Meghna Kakoty, Principal VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni welcomed the reverend guests and all the members of the Vidyalaya. To pay homage to the great scholar a group of students presented two songs based on the life of Swami Vivekananda. A student of Class VIII boldly delivered Swamiji's iconic Chicago Speech. Shabnam Didi in her speech emphasized on Swamiji's preachings and his contribution to unify the Indian society. Through a PowerPoint presentation the proficiencies of the invited guests were shown to the students to encourage them to think and develop their own capabilities and skills. At the last the guests shared their experiences of the day and thanked the school for honouring them encouraging the students to be independent thinkers and prepare themselves to cope up with the demands of today's challenging world. Smt. Chenehi Gogoi donated  more than 30 native plants to all the staff members of our school. On the eve of the occasion our vidyalaya celebrated the day along with 3 nearby schools; Jatiya Vidyalaya, Chicia M.V Bokuloni and Bokuloni Jatiya Vidyalaya. A competition was conducted in those schools titled as 'Come As We Wish', where the students performed the roles of important personalities of the Kendra. Overall the whole programme was well-organized and well-executed.



 

School Mental Health Program

A Mental Health Program was organised on our Vidyalaya by PsychSpace on 8th September 2023 for Classes IX and X. Considering the importance of mental wellbeing in students and to  spread awareness among them, this program was arranged for their benefit.

PsychSpace is a Guwahati based Mental Health organization dedicated to the mental health need of people across the society, with an idea to provide an all round mental health support to people in need. It's an initiative of a young and dynamic RCI licensed Clinical Psychologist from Guwahati, Assam with an PSYCHSPACE idea to make mental health services and learning more accessible and easily available. PsychSpace was established with the aim of increasing awareness as well as accessibility to mental health and its services. 

The program started with Mangalacharan and the introduction of the resource persons, Ms. Liza Choudhury and Ms. Taibang. They are the team members of Psychspace and also a psychologist working at PsychSpace with the goal of contributing towards mental health at a bigger pace. Smt Meghna Kakoty, Principal VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni felicitated them with a fulam Gamusa and a token of love. Handmade Guava Jam prepared by students were also gifted to them. After which Alankrita Didi handed over the program to them. The program was a very beneficial one with many things to learn and a lot of takehome points. Having an expandable experience at community work, therapy services, psychological assessments etc. they are also working for the betterment of the students optimum development. At the end they also took an assesment survey.

Shri Krishna Janmashtami

Shri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated on 7th August among the primary students in the NEEPCO community hall. The programme started with Madhurashtakam. Class IV and V students did an exhibition on different stories of Krishna, Shri Krishna Bhajan/Dihanaam/Harinaam/Prarthana Competition was held from Classes KG to III and the star performance was presentation of Krishna Lila- Makhan Chori by Nursery students. Papu Saikia Didi delivered a speech highlighting the mythological essence of Lord Krishna and stories of Bal Gopal. The whole program was conducted smoothly and everyone enjoyed. At the same time Classes VII and VIII prepared Guava Jam from scratch i.e from collecting Guavas from the campus trees to preparing the jam to bottling them. It was a Food Preservation Workshop for them and they learnt a skill too while enjoying the work. The whole day was very fruitful. 


Teachers' Day

5th September, the birthday of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and the special day to honour the teachers was celebrated in the Vidyalaya. Like every year, this year too the Class X students took the responsibility to organise the event. Soon after the morning assembly, the program started with a Guru Vandana. All the teachers together took an oath of protecting the students and of being fair and impartial. 

The parents from Ushapur came to express their gratitude and love to the teachers. They felicitated the teachers with a fulam gamusa and a token of love. Some parents also spoke about their appreciation towards the hardwork and dedication of the teachers. They also contributed some footballs for the children of the school. Smt. Meghna Kakoty Didi, Principal VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni, delivered a short speech thanking all the parents for the love and respect they showed for the school. On that day Class X students played the roles of teachers and took classes. 

At 10:30 am the cultural programme started with a variety of performances by Class X students. They also prepared a ppt. presentation bringing back past memories of the teachers and touching everyone's heart. They also gifted the teachers with a token of love within handmade paper bags. Sabita Didi delivered a speech on the importance of the day and Uttara didi spoke about her experience as a teacher. Students also shared their experiences and the program ended with a thank you message from the students.

Madhabdev Tithi

On 4th September 2023 our Vidyalaya observed the 427th tirobhav tithi of the eminent scholar of assamese art, culture and literature, Sri Sri Madhabdev. To pay tribute to the great saint a short programme was arranged in the morning assembly. Chandana Didi delivered a very informative speech and gave an overview of his literary contributions. She also highlighted his numerous social activities. Astha Borah, a class VI student presented a beautiful rendition of Borgeet which filled our souls with devotion.

Sanskrit Saptah Samaroh

Sanskrit Samaroh was observed in our vidyalaya from 28/08/2023 to 02/09/2023 to promote its revival and maintenance.
