Career Counselling Session

A comprehensive career counselling session was conducted at our vidyalaya on April 23, 2024, under the guidance of Sri Aniruddh Roy Choudhury who was a VKV student and passed out in the year 2005. He did his engineering from Karnataka VTU . After that worked in Taj group of hotel for 4 years as Assistant Manager from 2012-16 . Again did his MBA from IIM Ranchi. Now he is working as a compensation Specialist which is a part of HR in Infosys.

The session covered diverse topics including Artificial Intelligence (AI), job security, and the selection of various job roles.

Sri Aniruddh Roy Choudhury, an esteemed speaker, shared valuable insights into the rapidly evolving field of AI and its impact on the job market. His expertise shed light on the importance of staying updated with technological advancements to secure promising career opportunities in the digital era.

The program was gracefully led by Smt Mala Didi, a former teacher of VKV and a familiar face within the VKV NEEPCO BOKULONI community. Her wealth of experience and dedication to nurturing young minds made her an ideal facilitator for such an event.

One of the highlights of the session was the heartfelt sharing of experiences by Sushri Pranati Roy Didi, RAO VKSPV, who reminisced about her time spent with Mala Didi. Her narrative painted a vivid picture of the bond they shared and the invaluable guidance imparted by Mala Didi throughout her journey.

The gathering not only provided attendees with valuable career guidance but also served as a nostalgic homecoming for many, fostering a sense of camaraderie and community spirit among all participants.

Overall, the career counseling session proved to be an enriching experience, offering attendees a glimpse into the dynamic landscape of career opportunities while celebrating the cherished connections within the VKV NEEPCO BOKULONI family.

Varsharambha

23rd April 2024 marks the beginning of the new academic session 2024-25. Our Vidyalaya observed Varsharambha to welcome the young children to have a wonderous journey of imagination and learning. The assembly started with saraswati vandana followed by a bhajan and a small speech by Smt. Meghna Kakoty, Principal, VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni. The students were very enthusiastic to join the new academic session.

Vidyarambha ceremony

On 6 April 2024, our Vidyalaya organized Vidyarambha to welcome the blooming buds of Balvatika I. Parents and their little ones came for the event. They were greeted with tilakkam and Ranjit sir began with a prayer. The children offered flowers to Swamiji's portrait and the rituals of the ceremony began with students sitting on the teacher's lap, chanting and writing 'OM' on the rice plate. Ranjit sir also sang a beautiful Bhajan that created a peaceful atmosphere. Finally, everyone was given a light refreshment.

Saraswati Puja

Saraswati Puja was held at our school at 8 am on 14th February 2024. The puja rituals were conducted by Pandit Ji with devotion. The principal along with a few teachers actively participated in the ceremony.  A sacred Hawan was performed, engaging teachers, class 10 students and few small children. Prasad was distributed to the devotees present. The atmosphere was filled with joy and spirituality. Many people from the nearby localities joined to partake in the puja. Khichdi was served to everyone. Following the school puja, the teachers proceeded to the NEEPCO office to continue their participation in the auspicious Saraswati Puja celebration.

Coding Workshop

A funfilled coding workshop was organized at our Vidyalaya on 8th February 2024 for Class VI students by Alankrita Saikia Baruah Didi. She taught them how to write logic for creating small games. The students showcased their IT skills by creating small online games on Scratch. The students have been learning about code, algorithms, bug, debug, and if-else statements from the last 2 months and on the day of the workshop they were completely engaged and exhibited their interest and talents that far exceeded our expectations. Throughout the workshop they were not only entertained but also educated and could easily grasp complex concepts easily. We all hope for a great future for all our budding IT enthusiasts.



Sanskrit Workshop

Sanskrit Workshop was conducted at our Vidyalaya on 5th February 2024 by Jyotsna Didi.


Utsarga Samaroh & Abhibhabak Puja

Our vidyalaya organised Matri/Abhibhabak Puja and Utsarga Samaroh on 6th January 2024. This tradition of our Vidyalaya helps  strengthen the bond between parents and children and reminds them the importance of parents in their lives. The highlight of the day is bidding farewell to class X students with heartfelt emotions.

The event commenced at 8:00 AM with Srivastav sir explaining the significance of the day, followed by the Principal, Smt. Meghna Kakoty Didi and Sanjay Srivastav Sir explaining Utsarga shlokas in English and Hindi, respectively. Class 10 students then lit diyas in the rangoli of the India map.

The Matri/Abhibhabak Puja began with students washing their parents' feet and welcoming them with tilakam. Ganesh Puja and Hawan followed, along with special prayers for the parents. The atmosphere was filled with emotion throughout the program.

The event concluded with everyone enjoying light refreshments. It was a touching and memorable day for all involved.

Book Fair

Book fair in Vidyalaya. Dates-1st, 2nd and 3rd February 2024.

Pariksha Pe Charcha 2024

On January 29th, students from classes VI to IX participated in the Pariksha Pe Charcha programme at the NRC hall. The event aimed to release exam stress among students. Prime Minister Modi delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of stress-free exams. Talented students from different schools showcased various models, symbolizing a miniature progressive India. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also addressed the audience. Modi interacted with students from different regions of India, answering their questions and exemplified innovative teaching methods and words of inspiration. Our students attentively listened to the entire programme and were benefitted from the insights shared by the speakers.

75th Republic Day

Our Vidyalaya celebrated the 75th Republic Day with great pomp and show. The day started at 7:30 am with the hoisting of the National Flag and singing of the National Anthem. Everyone recited the Swadesh Mantra together. The principal delivered a speech reminding about our duties towards our country. Students performed a patriotic song, followed by sweets distribution to students, parents, and teachers. After which, everyone went to NEEPCO Office. There, after flag hoisting and the national anthem, the Head of the Project, Shri Opang Ering Sir addressed everyone. Our students presented a cultural program including group song, an alakhya on Nari Shakti and a patriotic dance. Finally, everyone enjoyed light refreshments before leaving.

CBP on Storytelling as Pedagogy

A one-day workshop was conducted on 25th January 2024 on the topic Storytelling as  Pedagogy. Shri S.K Sripada was the resource person. The workshop began at 9 am and had 40 participants from various schools. It focused on demonstrating how storytelling can effectively convey concepts to children.  The resource person covered various aspects of storytelling and assigned the teachers with few activities such as to act a story using the masks/hand puppets of animals etc. Participants found the workshop engaging and informative. The resource person shared many updated information about the national education system. Lunch was served midway through the program, and the workshop concluded at 4:30 pm.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti

Our Vidyalaya observed the birthday of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on 23rd January 2024. The programme started with Mangalacharan and floral tribute to Netaji's portrait. Richa Didi delivered the keynote speech highlighting the significance of Netaji's contribution to the Indian freedom struggle and his vision for a strong and independent India. The programme also included a oral quiz session conducted by Chandana Didi to promote the legacy of Netaji and inspire the younger generation to follow in his footsteps.

Shree Ram Darbar

On 22nd January 2024, an auspicious event, Shree Ram Darbar took place in our school. The event commenced at 4 pm. The entire school campus was adorned with the glow of diyas. The highlights of the event were the rendition of the Shree Ram strota and the melodious verses of Shreenamramayan. Hanuman chalisa was also chanted by everyone. Approximately 50 individuals took part in the event involving teachers, parents and students. Towards the end of the programme an aarti dedicated to Shree Ram Darbar was performed. It created a serene atmosphere for the gathering. Finally prasad was distributed amongst all attendees.


Silpi Diwas

On 17th January our school observed Silpi Diwas to commemorate the cultural contributions of renowned artists Roopkonwar Jyotiprosad Agarwala. The day began with a special morning assembly with a speech emphasizing the significance of Silpi Diwas in recognizing the invaluable contributions of artists to our cultural heritage. After that a soulful Jyoti Sangeet was performed adding a melodious touch to the event. As a part of the observation a workshop on Jyoti Sangeet from classes IV-IX was conducted by Ranjit Domai Sir to deepen the students' understanding of Jyoti Sangeet.


Swami Vivekananda Jayanti (Annual Day)

The 25th Annual Day of our Vidyalaya was a much-anticipated event that began with the warm welcome of Chief Guest Sri. Opang Ering Sir, HOP, AGBP NEEPCO Bokuloni and Guest of Honour, Sri. Bhupendra Goswami Sir, Former HOP, AGBP NEEPCO on 12th January, 2024. The presence of Sushri Pranati Didi, the Ex Principal and RAO of our Vidyalaya added grace to the occasion. It was followed by lighting of the lamp and offering Pushpanjali to Swamiji's portrait. Dignitaries took their seats and after being welcomed the crowd joined in for "Vande Mataram," creating a serene atmosphere. Smt. Meghna Kakoty, Principal VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni delivered a powerful speech, assuring that VKV Bokuloni is a community-centric institution. Guests and ex-teachers were honoured with floral (Bouquet) felicitation, Citations, and Fulam Gamusa. The 25th-year report by Uttara Didi highlighted the year's special programs, followed by the launching of the half-yearly e-magazine showcasing the practice of Indian Culture in our Vidyalaya. Speeches from Pranati Didi, the Guest of honour, and the Chief guest motivated everyone present and all had a lot to take away from the speeches..

Excitement peaked with awards for the best house, best class and student of the year. Alankrita Didi at the last of the formal meeting expressed gratitude to everyone for joining the programme. This was followed by the cultural program. The traditional attire-clad anchors and the colourful programmes mesmerized the audience. A mime was presented beautifully depicting Eknath Ji's hard work and community efforts for the construction of the Rock Memorial. The program concluded with an Alakhya on Nari Shakti, celebrating the contributions of women in Assam and India. The disciplined audience appreciated the diverse programs and the event concluded with Shantipath.

Sports Week

The annual sports week held from 3rd to 6th January 2024 began with the flag hoisting and an inspiring speech by Smt. Meghna Kakoty, Principal, VKV (NEEPVO) Bokuloni. During the opening ceremony, students from classes IV and V displayed a lively Lezime and Dumbbell performance.  Each and every student from all the houses eagerly took part in different games. They were awarded with medals and prizes. The event wrapped up with a sports day on 6th for teaching and non-teaching staff. They too enthusiastically participated in every game.  For Classes Nursery and KG, the sports day was held on 28th December 2023 and for Classes I, II and III it was held on 29th December 2023. The whole week was full of enthusiasm and eagerness to win the medals for their houses. All Students were fired up, focused and ready to win. The Sports week ended with the flag lowering ceremony led by the Principal and sports teachers.

Samartha Bharat Parva

To instill  a sense of pride and unity, and understand the importance of preserving and cherishing our rich cultural heritage and diversity our school observed Samarth Bharat Parva from 25th December 2023 to 12th January 2024. Students from each class participated in the evening prayer singing Vande Mataram and performing an Aarti dedicated to Bharat Mata. As a part of the celebration a heritage quiz was conducted where students were engaged in a pen-paper test to evaluate their knowledge of our rich cultural legacy. Additionally, a captivating art exhibition unfolded from 28th December to 30th, showcasing diverse art forms related to Indian heritage and culture. The visitors appreciated the hard work and dedication of the students.

Habitat Restoration

 

On January 1, 2024, our Vidyalaya marked the celebration of Samarth Bharat Parva with a unique initiative focused on habitat restoration – "Join River Rangers" clubbed with VKV Dhemaji and VKV Majuli at same time in different locations. The event took place at the bank of Buridihing river near Namphake with 14 students as 'River Rangers'. It aimed to promote environmental consciousness and community engagement in preserving our natural resources through - Join River Ranges" Campaign.

The campaign, aptly named "Join River Rangers," encouraged participants to actively contribute to the protection of river habitats. Volunteers formed groups and collaborated on strategies to ensure the long-term well-being of our water resources. We cleaned the river bank specially picnic spots and tried to spread awareness about water pollution due to human activities. Our students also interacted with people coming for picnic and appealed them to clean the river bank before leaving.

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO) Bokuloni successfully garnered widespread community participation, involving students and teachers.  This collective effort amplified the impact of the event and laid the foundation for future environmental initiatives.

Kalpataru Diwas

Kalpataru Diwas was observed on our Vidyalaya on 1st January, 2024 in the morning assembly. Jyotsna Didi delivered a captivating speech on the importance of the day explaining why it is imperative to imbibe and follow our cultural practices and heritage in Vidyalayas. She recited a beautiful self composed poem and illuminated the significance of the ocassion. Adding a spiritual touch to the observation, a group of students rendered a soulful bhajan on Sri Ramakrishna Paramhamsa.

Art Exhibition

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya NEEPCO Bokuloni organised an Art Exhibition cum Sale from December 27 to December 30, 2023, to celebrate Samarth Bharat Parva on the occasion of completion of 25 years of our Vidyalaya. In this exhibition, 26 selected paintings  were displayed. The paintings displayed a fervour of festivity and creativity. Our little artists belonged to classes VII, VIII, IX and X.  The exhibition was  authorized by Smt. Meghna Kakoty Didi, Principal, VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni and guided by Sri. Samar Chiring Sir. The exhibition was inaugurated by chief guest Sri. Rahul Kumar Gohar, Deputy General Manager (Finance), on December 27, 2023, at 11 am. Subsequently, the exhibition entertained  450 students and around 150 visitors over three days. The exciting paintings left everyone spell bounded.
