The weaving classes at VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni have successfully brought students closer to the traditional craft of weaving. Guided by skilled instructors, students have diligently worked to prepare 25 beautifully handwoven gamochas. These gamochas, symbolizing Assam’s rich heritage, are set to be completed by 12th January 2025.
This initiative not only nurtures traditional skills but also fosters creativity and patience among the students. The event highlights the school’s commitment to preserving and promoting cultural values.
On January 2, 2025, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya NEEPCO Bokuloni organized a Graphics Art Workshop on Woodcut Printmaking for the students of Classes VIII and IX. This unique initiative, spearheaded by Principal Smt. Meghna Kakoty, provided an excellent platform for students to explore the intricate art of woodcarving and printmaking.
Under the expert guidance of Shri Samar Chiring Sir, the students enthusiastically engaged in carving wooden blocks and creating stunning prints. The activity enhanced their artistic skills, patience, and creativity.
The workshop concluded with a display of the students' impressive creations, reflecting their dedication and talent. The school extends heartfelt thanks to Principal Smt. Meghna Kakoty for this enriching opportunity and to Samar Chiring Sir for his expert mentorship.

Educating the Mind without Educating the Heart is No Education at All (Class VII)
A funfilled coding workshop was organized at our Vidyalaya on 8th February 2024 for Class VI students by Alankrita Saikia Baruah Didi. She taught them how to write logic for creating small games. The students showcased their IT skills by creating small online games on Scratch. The students have been learning about code, algorithms, bug, debug, and if-else statements from the last 2 months and on the day of the workshop they were completely engaged and exhibited their interest and talents that far exceeded our expectations. Throughout the workshop they were not only entertained but also educated and could easily grasp complex concepts easily. We all hope for a great future for all our budding IT enthusiasts.
Under the guidance of Smt. Meghna Kakoty, Principal of VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni, our Vidyalaya had the privilege of hosting an enriching Calligraphy Workshop. This workshop was conducted by two highly skilled and experienced professionals: Sri. Shubham Kumar and Sri. Rachit Srivastava, both of whom are 4th-year students at Techno Institute of Higher Studies.
About the Instructors:
Shubham Kumar is a BVA Applied Art student specializing in Brand Strategy, Branding, Typography, and Design. He has honed his skills through "The Future," an online learning platform led by Chris Do, and is a professional Motion Designer, Graphic Designer, and Brand Strategist. Shubham is also a teacher at MICS while continuing his studies.
Rachit Srivastava specializes in Character Designing and Painting, both digital and manual. He is currently working with the Gujarat Government on the SDG Jamnagar Coordination project titled "Swaccha Jamnagar."
Workshop Overview:The calligraphy classes of one week were a blend of art and skill-building exercises. The instructors introduced students to various calligraphy techniques, sketching methods, and layout design principles. The workshop was designed to cater to students of different age groups, allowing them to explore the beauty of handwriting and the art of calligraphy.
Calligraphy Techniques: Different styles of calligraphy were taught, focusing on brush strokes, penmanship, and the use of different tools.
Sketching and Layout Design: The instructors guided students through basic sketching techniques and the fundamentals of layout design, which are crucial in creating aesthetically pleasing compositions.
The workshop had a significant impact on the students, sparking a newfound interest in the art of calligraphy and design. Many students expressed their eagerness to continue practicing these skills and exploring creative possibilities in typography and layout design.
The workshop concluded with a display of the students' work, showcasing their progress and creativity. The efforts of Shubham Kumar and Rachit Srivastava were deeply appreciated by both students and faculty, as their expertise brought a fresh perspective to the art education at VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni.

Class V recently engaged in a creative Puppet Show activity based on their English chapters. The students were divided into 6 groups, each presenting a unique and imaginative interpretation of their assigned chapters. The event showcased the students' enthusiasm, teamwork, and creativity. The performances were both entertaining and insightful, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.
