Educational Tours Organized by VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni
VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni organized a series of educational tours for students of different classes with the aim of providing experiential learning beyond the classroom. The tours were designed to enhance students’ understanding of industry, environment, culture, and heritage, while encouraging observation and curiosity.
Class III students went on an educational tour to the Buddha Temple near the NEEPCO river, accompanied by Jyotsna Didi. The visit helped students learn about cultural values, serenity, and respect for nature.
Class IV students visited Digboi Park and Museum under the guidance of Sushila Didi and Papu Didi. The tour provided insights into local history, wildlife, and the heritage of Digboi.
Classes V, VI, and IX visited the Namrup Petrochemical Plant and Power Plant under the guidance of Samar Sir, Gopen Sir, and smt.Mausami Didi. The students gained firsthand knowledge about industrial processes, energy production, and the functioning of large-scale plants.
Classes VII and VIII students visited Hoolock Gibbon Park, Barekuri, Tinsukia ,guided by Banashree Didi Chandana Didi and Abhishek Sir. The visit enhanced students’ awareness of wildlife conservation and biodiversity, especially about the Hoolock gibbon, India’s only ape species.
These educational tours offered students meaningful learning experiences by connecting theoretical knowledge with real-world observation. The initiative reflected VKV Bokuloni’s commitment to holistic education and experiential learning.
Educational Tour to Sasoni Merbil
One day educational trip was organized by our vidyalaya with classes II to V on 2nd December 2023 with all teaching and non- teaching staff. Two buses were fully occupied by the students accompanied by all the teachers. We started our journey at 8:00 am with full enthusiasm. Our destination was Sasoni Merbil Eco-tourism project. It is an important tourist destination of Assam. It is located at Sasoni under Naharkatia revenue circle of Dibrugarh District.
Merbil is an island and a remarkable biodiversity hot spot. We took our students with the objectives of knowing the biodiversity of that place and know more about the importance of ecosystem.
Students were guided by Sri. Monimanik Gogoi Sir (Founder president of Sasoni Merbil Eco-tourism project) with the historical background and availability of flora and fauna in that project. He also appealed our students and all the members to protect and love environment. He also took us to a short tracking inside the forest and made us familiar with different medicinal plants and herbs.
We got the opportunity of bird watching in the nearby wetland with majestic Asian fauna. We sighted Purple Swamp-hen , Grey-headed Swamp-hen, cattle egret, Black Drongo, Common Darter hi, It is the home for migratory birds in winter season and habitat for variety of aquatic birds. The students enjoyed the sights of various birds and animals during the tour. We were mesmerized with the scenic beauty of Sasoni Merbil.
Overall, It was a new, interesting and informative experience for all of us. We all had a safe and enjoyable journey with lots of information. The students played, shared their tiffins and enjoyed playful moments creating memories for life.
Educational Tour To Kaziranga National Park: 8th Feb 2020
Educational Tour to Local Farm, 20th November 2019
Selected students from our Vidyalaya were taken to a nearby farm on 20th November 2019. They talked with the farm owner and collected valuable information about farming. Smt. Gita Sarma didi accompanied the students to the farm of Sri Kanthi Hazarika, a farm enthusiast and entrepreneur par excellence to collect necessary information for a report. Sri Hazarika had a candid and friendly interaction with the students.
Educational Tour to Dibru Saikhowa National Park, 17th November 2019

The students of classes IX and X along with the staff of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO) Bokuloni visited the Dibru Saikhowa National Park on 17th November 2019 and carried out an environmental study there. During the trip they had a candid interaction with Conservationist Sri Sanjay Das who gave valuable information to students regarding the bond between human and nature and other areas related to the environment
