9th Vivekananda Kendra Krida Mahotsav (Cluster-1)

The 9th Vivekananda Kendra Krida Mahotsav (VKM), a highly anticipated cluster-level event, was held from November 23 to 25, 2024. This event celebrated the vision of Vivekananda Kendra Shiksha Prasar Vibhag (VKSPV) of promoting five-fold development and the holistic growth of students through sports and cultural activities.


Event Overview

The Mahotsav commenced with a vibrant inaugural ceremony at VKV Tingrai on November 24, featuring a grand march by 24 troops representing participating schools. The valedictory ceremony, held on November 25 at VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni, marked the culmination of three days of spirited sports competitions and cultural programs.

Special Attractions

The program was graced by several esteemed guests, whose presence added to the grandeur of the Mahotsav:

     Mananeeya Bhanudas Ji, a revered figure, whose participation inspired all attendees.

    • Sri Opang Ering Sir, Head of Plant (HOP), AGBP NEEPCO, was a distinguished guest at the event.

     Su.Sri Pranati Roy Didi, a guiding force for Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas.

     Rebati Baideo and Sovarani Baideo, who contributed their support and encouragement.

     Suvan Seth Sir, who played a key role in organizing the event.


Key Highlights

     Inaugural Event: VKV Tingrai hosted the opening ceremony, setting the tone for the Mahotsav with disciplined marches and enthusiastic participation.

    • Competitions: Indoor and outdoor games, including table tennis, badminton, and yoga ,chess , Field and track event , kho-kho , Kabaddi , were hosted across both venues.

   • Cultural Programs: The closing ceremony at Bokuloni featured performances that highlighted India’s rich cultural heritage:

            o Group Song: Performed by 20 students.

            o Khool Performance: Presented by 18 students.

            o Sattriya Dance: Showcased by 14 students.

            o Instrumental Orchestra: Played by 8–9 students.

Special Additions

    • Introduction of Yoga: For the first time in VKM history, yoga was officially included, underscoring the event's focus on holistic development.

    • Cluster-Based Format: To ensure better management of participants, the event followed a cluster-based approach this year.

Logistics and Arrangements

    • Participation: Over 350 students from various VKVs joined the event, supported by escort teachers and officials.

    • Food Arrangements: Packed dinners were provided for students traveling late, ensuring their comfort and safety.

     Discipline: Vidyalaya Managing Committee members ensured smooth coordination during the ceremonies.

Results and Achievements

    • Discipline Award: VKV Sivasagar.

    • Best School in Sports: VKV Sadiya.

Valedictory Ceremony

The closing event began at 5:30 PM with an inspiring cultural program, followed by the much-awaited prize distribution.

This year’s Mahotsav was a grand success, celebrating sportsmanship, discipline, cultural vibrancy, and the invaluable contributions of the special guests, leaving a lasting impression on all participants and attendees.

Himanshu Jyoti Neog 

The momentos for Discipline are presented in the memory of an ex-student Himangshu Jyoti Neog who studied in this Vidyalaya since 2002-2008. He started higher education after class XII in Jorhat Institute of Science and technology in Electronics and Telecommunication. Later due to some inconvenience faced by him , he again took admission in Electronics and Telecommunication , a branch of Engineering in Guwahati University Institute of Science and technology in 2017 and continued. In 2008 in n 3rd Semester,he passed away due to some unknown illness. He had a very good academic career with so much of achievements.

Sadhana Diwas Celebration

On the occasion of Sadhana Diwas, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya NEEPCO Bokuloni organized a series of enriching activities to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mananeeya Eknathji Ranade, the founder of Vivekananda Kendra.

The day began with a solemn Pushpanjali and the recitation of Hanuman Chalisa after the morning assembly, where the entire school community paid tribute to Eknathji’s life and mission.



In the afternoon, a Swadhyay session was organized for the parents of students from Balvatika I to Class IX. This session was centered on the book Sadhana of Service by Mananeeya Eknathji Ranade, focusing on the special chapter One Life, One Mission. Parents actively participated in the session, presenting their thoughts and reflections on the chapter. Guided group discussions were held, involving parents and teachers, fostering an environment of collective learning and understanding.

The event was conducted under the leadership of the school’s Principal, Smt. Meghna Kakoty, and was graced by the presence of Su. Sri Pranati Roy Didi, RAO, VKSPV.

The program successfully instilled the values and teachings of Eknathji, inspiring everyone to strive for dedication and service in their respective lives.

Children's Day Celebration at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya NEEPCO Bokuloni

On 14th November, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya NEEPCO Bokuloni celebrated Children’s Day with great joy and enthusiasm. A series of games and activities were organized, creating an engaging and memorable experience for students from Balvatika I to Class X. Parents of Balvatika I to Class III were requested to send their children with only a light tiffin and a water bottle, with no other school materials required for the day.

The celebration began with a special assembly conducted by the teachers. Students from Balvatika I to Class III participated in Mass PT exercises, displaying energy and enthusiasm. Afterward, they engaged in a variety of fun games, including musical chairs and running races, which brought smiles and laughter to everyone. A small token of love was presented to all the students, along with light snacks, adding to the festive atmosphere.


For older students, different games were organized across various venues:

 Ring the Object for Classes IV & V in the Assembly Hall.

Dart Game for Classes VI & VII in Class I.

Quiz for Classes VIII, IX, & X in Class III.

The highlight of the event was the Heritage Quiz, which was conducted with great success, allowing students to showcase their knowledge of cultural heritage and history.

The entire event was successfully completed under the guidance of the school principal, Smt. Meghna Kakoty, and the enthusiastic participation of students made it a joyful Children’s Day celebration.

Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Diwas

On the solemn occasion of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika's death anniversary, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya NEEPCO Bokuloni organized a two-day workshop on 4th and 5th November to commemorate the legendary singer and poet. The aim was to familiarize students with his timeless compositions and pay tribute to his contributions to Indian music and culture.


Under the guidance of Ranjit Domai Sir, students from Classes 1 to 10 actively participated in the workshop, engaging in discussions on Dr. Hazarika’s impactful lyrics and melodies, which reflect the essence of Assamese culture and human emotions. Throughout the two days, students were introduced to several of his iconic songs, exploring the depth and message behind each composition. This was an inspiring opportunity for them to connect with Dr. Hazarika's musical legacy and the values he stood for.


On the final day, selected students performed individual songs of Dr. Hazarika’s, showcasing the skills they developed during the workshop. These performances were a heartfelt tribute to the late maestro, celebrating his enduring influence and ensuring that the significance of his work lives on in future generations. The workshop was not only a learning experience but also a memorable homage to Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, enriching the students' cultural awareness and instilling pride in Assam’s musical heritage.

Hand Painting competition for Classes IX and X was organized in our school on 30th October which was an excellent therapeutic activity for students. Multiple senses of students were engaged, providing an opportunity for self-expression and was a relaxing and calming activity.
