Celebration of Shastri Jayanti and Gandhi Jayanti

On October 2nd, 2024, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya NEEPCO Bokuloni celebrated Gandhi Jayanti and the birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri with two remarkable events: the "Go As You Like" competition for Classes IX and X, and a Swachhata Abhiyan led by the teachers.

The Go As You Like competition revolved around the theme Satyamev Jayate - Importance of Truthfulness in Our Life. Students enthusiastically participated by dressing up as their favorite Freedom Fighters and delivering one-minute speeches explaining their attire and the importance of their chosen leader. The event aimed to instill the values of truthfulness and integrity in young minds, as championed by Mahatma Gandhi and other great leaders. The creativity and dedication shown by the students brought to life the inspiring stories of India's Freedom Fighters.

Participation was mandatory for all students, including those engaged in sports, and the marks obtained in this competition will contribute to their Social Science Internal Assessment. The event provided a wonderful opportunity for students to delve into the history of India's freedom movement while reflecting on the significance of truth and honesty in today’s society.

In addition to the competition, the teachers of VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni actively participated in a Swachhata Abhiyan on the occasion of Gandhi and Shastri Jayanti. The cleanliness drive was aimed at honoring Mahatma Gandhi's vision of cleanliness and Lal Bahadur Shastri's dedication to simplicity and service. The teachers’ involvement underscored the school’s commitment to promoting a clean and healthy environment, setting an example for the students to follow.

The celebration of Gandhi and Shastri Jayanti through these events was a meaningful way to honor the legacy of these great leaders. It fostered a sense of patriotism, responsibility, and the importance of truthfulness and cleanliness among the teachers .
