Workshop on Traditional Games

On December 26, 2024, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV) NEEPCO Bokuloni organized a workshop on traditional games, which was conducted by Sri. Koful Gogoi, a state-level kho-kho player and Assistant Coach of the Dibrugarh District Kho-Kho Association. The workshop aimed to promote the rich heritage of traditional games and to engage students in fun, physical activities that also enhance their teamwork and strategic thinking skills.

The event began at 10:00 a.m. under the guidance of the Principal, Smt. Meghna Kakoty. It was accompanied by Pranshumoni Didi and Bir Kumar Sir, ensuring the smooth execution of the program. Students of Classes VII and VIII actively participated, showcasing enthusiasm and a keen interest in learning and playing the games.

The traditional games featured in the workshop included:

  • Tire Race
  • Kostu Guti Khel
  • King and Queen
  • Sack Race
  • Hui Game


Each game was introduced with detailed instructions, and students had the opportunity to both observe and participate. Koful Gogoi shared valuable insights about the importance of traditional games in building physical fitness and preserving cultural heritage.



The workshop concluded with a sense of excitement and nostalgia, leaving the participants inspired to explore and appreciate the significance of traditional games in their daily lives.
