Eknathji Punyatithi
Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO) Bokuloni observed Eknathji Punyatithi on 22nd August 2026. The programme began with Mangalacharan, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Sri. Prahlad Gogoi, Principal, VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni.
The significance of the day was highlighted, reminding the students of the inspiring life, ideals and contributions of Mananeeya Eknathji Ranade. A group song was presented by the Prayer Group under the guidance of Ranjit Sir. A video showcasing Eknathji’s life journey was also screened, helping the students understand his dedication and service to the nation.
The programme further included a meditation session led by Sima Borah Didi, followed by Pushpanjali offered by the class captains and teachers. The programme concluded with Shantipath. The observation was meaningful and inspiring, encouraging the students to follow the values of dedication, discipline, service and patriotism exemplified by Eknathji.
Observance of Har Ghar Tiranga
As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative, the students of VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni observed the programme on 14th August with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The students brought the National Flag and participated in a procession during the school assembly hours. They proudly raised slogans such as “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram”, filling the school campus with a strong sense of national pride and unity. The programme encouraged the students to respect and cherish the National Flag and strengthened their spirit of patriotism and love for the nation.
Independence Day Celebration
Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO) Bokuloni celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm on 15 August 2026. The celebration commenced at 7:00 a.m. on the school ground in the presence of the Principal, teachers, students, NCC cadets and members of the school community and parents.
The programme began with a Parade by the NCC cadets, reflecting their discipline, dedication and patriotic spirit. This was followed by the flag hoisting by the Principal, Shri Prahlad Gogoi, and the National Anthem, which filled the atmosphere with a deep sense of pride and patriotism.
The Principal addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance of Independence Day, reminding the students of their responsibilities as citizens and the importance of unity, discipline, service and dedication towards the nation. The students presented a patriotic group song, followed by a speech by Liza Pasi, which added to the spirit of the occasion.
A special moment of pride was the felicitation of the NCC rank holders of the 1st Batch (2024–26). The cadets were felicitated by the Principal , and Second Officer, Ms. Pransumoni Borah, in recognition of their dedication, discipline and achievements in NCC.

Along with the Independence Day celebration at VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni, the students also actively participated in the Independence Day programme organised by NEEPCO , representing the Vidyalaya with enthusiasm and pride.
The programme was a meaningful reminder of the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and inspired the students to uphold the values of unity, discipline, responsibility and service to the nation.
World Elephant Day
On the occasion of World Elephant Day, 12 August 2026, students of Classes III and IX were shown the documentary Gaja-Lok: Wild. Sacred. Eternal. The screening aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of elephants and their significant role in maintaining ecological balance.
The documentary highlighted the close relationship between elephants, forests and human communities, with special emphasis on the growing issue of human–elephant conflict in Assam. Students learnt about the need to protect elephant habitats, promote peaceful coexistence and adopt responsible measures to reduce conflicts between humans and elephants.
The screening was an enriching learning experience that encouraged students to develop greater sensitivity towards wildlife and a sense of responsibility towards conserving our natural heritage.
4th Edition of Dehing Patkai National Park Biodiversity and Butterfly Trail 2026
The 4th Edition of the Dehing Patkai National Park Biodiversity and Butterfly Trail was held from 28th to 31st July 2026 in Dehing Patkai National Park. The trail was initiated by Rainforest India in collaboration with the Forest Department of Dehing Patkai National Park and other renowned nature and wildlife conservation organisations.
On 28th July 2026, VKV Neepco Bokuloni participated in the programme with 39 students from Classes VI to VIII. We visited the Joypur Range of Dehing Patkai National Park, where the trail began with an interactive session with various resource persons, including the renowned “Butterfly Man of Arunachal Pradesh,” Shri Roshan Upadhyaya.
The students were divided into groups and accompanied by nature experts and experienced guides. Students from other schools and colleges also participated in the trail. During the three-hour-long exploration, our students recorded more than 25 species of butterflies, along with several other forms of wildlife. They enthusiastically photographed butterflies and wildlife using cameras and mobile phones.
The trail provided students with valuable hands-on experience and practical knowledge about butterfly identification, biodiversity, and the vital role of butterflies in maintaining the balance of forest ecosystems. Under the guidance of experts, the students gained new experiences and developed a deeper appreciation for nature and wildlife conservation.
The third session featured a videography presentation on Dehing Patkai National Park, providing participants with a fascinating aerial view of the rainforest and its rich biodiversity. This was followed by a felicitation programme, during which all the resource persons were honoured for their valuable contributions and insightful sessions.
The evening concluded with a beautiful traditional cultural programme presented by the local villagers. The students particularly enjoyed the traditional Bagurumba dance of the Bodo community, which beautifully portrayed the movements of butterflies. A wonderful Sattriya dance was also presented by young children from the local community.
The programme concluded with the distribution of Trail Completion Certificates to all the participants by the invited guests. It was a highly enriching and memorable experience for our students, helping them understand the importance of environmental education, biodiversity conservation, and coexistence with nature.
