ECHOES OF PATRIOTISM :150th ANNIVERSARY OF VANDE MATARAM

On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the "Vande Mataram" song, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO) Bokuloni celebrated with great fervour. The event commenced with a spirited rendition of the song during the morning assembly. Students were also educated about the rich history and significance of the song through an engaging presentation. Demonstrating community spirit and cultural pride, VKV Bokuloni students reached out to neighbouring schools to teach their peers the national song.
The celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation across three schools. At Chichia M. V. School, 197 students and 25 teachers joined in the chorus. Chichia Girls School saw an even larger gathering with 259 students and 26 teachers. VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni had the highest participation, contributing 496 students along with 30 teaching and non-teaching staff. In Total, 1,033 individuals came together to celebrate and honor the history of "Vande Mataram," creating a memorable and unifying experience.

VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni observed Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Diwas with
heartfelt reverence and enthusiasm at the NRC Hall. The programme began with
Mangala Charan, setting a serene and respectful tone for the event.
Students from Classes II, III, IV, and V actively
participated in poem recitation, Bhupendra Sangeet, and speech presentations,
showcasing their admiration for the legendary music maestro. Their performances
reflected the timeless influence of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika’s songs and his
profound messages of unity, humanity, and compassion.
The programme was coordinated by Ranjit Sir, and the
Principal, Smt. Meghna Katoky, graced the occasion with an inspiring speech
highlighting the importance of Dr. Hazarika’s contributions to music, culture,
and society.
All participants were awarded tokens of appreciation for their enthusiastic involvement. The event concluded with the distribution of prizes and Santipath, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of cultural pride and gratitude for the great artist.

Three students from VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni — Ridhim Bordoloi, Yuvraj Barman, and Akangsha Dutta of Class IX — proudly represented the school in SXMUN 2025, a Model United Nations conference organized by St. Xavier’s School, Naharkatiya.
The event provided a dynamic platform for young minds to engage in discussions, debates, and diplomacy, enhancing their confidence, communication, and leadership skills.
Among the participants, Akangsha Dutta achieved a remarkable milestone by being awarded the Best Delegate in the IPC Journalist Committee, showcasing her exceptional analytical and presentation abilities.
Certificates of participation and achievement were distributed during the morning assembly at VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni, where the school community applauded their commendable performance and spirit of learning.
The school takes immense pride in their achievement and encourages all students to participate in such enriching academic forums.

District Day Celebration – Drawing Competition
Date: 24th October 2025
As per the notification from the Office of the
District Mission Coordinator, Axom Sarba Siksha Abhiyan Mission, Dibrugarh, the
students of Classes VI to X from VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni enthusiastically
participated in a District-Level Drawing Competition organized on the eve of
District Day Celebration.
More than 100 students from our schools took part,
making the event vibrant, colourful, and inspiring.
The competition was conducted under the following
themes:

and Traditions of Dibrugarh
- Future
of Our District – Through a Student’s Eye
Through their creative artworks, students beautifully
expressed their love for the district, its cultural richness, and their vision

The event served as a wonderful platform to encourage
artistic talent, promote creative expression, and instill a sense of pride and
belonging among young learners.
Flavour of Festivity - Pre-Diwali Celebration
Date: 17th October 2025
VKV Bokuloni celebrated Pre-Diwali with great enthusiasm and festive spirit under the theme “Flavour of Festivity.” The celebration brought together students and staff in an atmosphere filled with joy, togetherness, and cultural warmth.Students of Class III took part in preparing delicious Jhal Muri. Aloo Chaat was also prepared as a special dish and later shared among the teaching and non-teaching staff, symbolizing the spirit of sharing and unity. The aroma of festive food and the excitement of celebration filled the school premises with happiness.
As Diwali is incomplete without sweets, sweet packets
were distributed as a token of love and blessing from our respected Principal,
Smt. Meghna Katoky. Her kind gesture added sweetness to the day and
strengthened the bond of the school community.
Students also shared messages on celebrating an
eco-friendly Diwali, spreading awareness about reducing pollution and promoting
the use of natural diyas instead of firecrackers.
The celebration concluded with smiles, laughter, and
the true essence of Diwali — spreading light, joy, and love all around.
Activity Based Workshop
Our Balvatika to Class III students celebrated the spirit of Navaratri with joy and imagination. Using simple grains, colors, flowers and leaves they created smiling festive faces of Devi, Rangoli, Bandhanwar, Swastik,etc. that reflect positivity, devotion, and creativity.
Through these activities children not only learned about the festival but also expressed their artistic skills and teamwork in the most delightful way. Happy Navratri.
Shraddhanjali to the Cultural Icon Zubeen Garg

The school community gathered to pay heartfelt tribute to the legendary singer Zubeen Garg, who passed away at the age of 52. His untimely demise has left millions in shock, and the atmosphere was filled with deep sorrow as students, teachers, parents, and staff assembled in the prayer hall to offer their Puspanjali and prayers for the departed soul.
The program began with collective prayers, followed by
Ranjit Sir rendering one of Zubeen Garg’s songs in his memory, creating an
emotional moment for everyone present. Priyanka Didi recited a heartfelt poem
dedicated to the great soul, Parents also came up to recite poems in his memory. Samar Sir also addressed the gathering,
remembering Zubeen Garg’s immense contribution to music and culture, and
encouraging students to keep his legacy alive in their hearts.
The solemn gathering reflected the deep love and respect people hold for Zubeen Garg, whose music touched countless lives. The program concluded with Shantipath, offering peace to the departed soul.
NER START-UP WORKSHOP
Faculty of Vkv bokuloni (Pransumoni Borah)attended NER START-UP WORKSHOP organised by 50 Assam Air Sqn NCC Guwahati from 7th September to 16 th September at Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex ,Guwahati. Seminars and lectures were conducted by Assam Skills University .To empower our teachers is a part of bokuloni 's flagship programme.
Observation of Sri Sri Madhav Dev Tithi

The
Tithi of Sri Sri Madhav Dev was observed with deep reverence in the school
library. All the teachers gathered together to pay homage to the great saint
and offered flowers as a mark of respect and devotion.
The solemn occasion served as a heartfelt reminder of Madhav Dev’s immense contribution to the Bhakti Movement and his enduring teachings of devotion, discipline, and humanity. The observance inspired everyone present to uphold the values and spiritual ideals propagated by the saint, fostering a sense of cultural pride and moral responsibility among the school community.
Universal Brotherhood Day Celebration

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO) Bokuloni
celebrated Universal Brotherhood Day with great enthusiasm and reverence. The
programme was attended by the students of Class IX and X of VKV Bokuloni along
with invited students from Bhadoi Junior College and Chichia Girls School,
Bokuloni. More than 90 students from other schools actively participated,
making the event vibrant and meaningful.
The event was graced by two eminent personalities —
Smti. Amiya Pathak Borpujari (Founder, Mrinaljyoti Rehabilitation Centre), an esteemed educationist. and Dr. Binita Pathak, renowned Climate Scientist, Member
of ICTP (Trieste, Italy) and Member of ISRO & DST.
The programme began with Manglacharan, followed by a
Welcome Speech by Principal Smt. Meghna Kakoty, who also felicitated the guests
with traditional Gamuchas, handcrafted by the students of VKV, NEEPCO,
Bokuloni. A group song was beautifully
sung by the students of VKV Bokuloni. The famous Chicago speech of Swami
Vivekananda was recited by Tanmoy Dutta of Class IX.
The programme concluded with Shantipath, leaving the
participants enriched with the spirit of unity and brotherhood.
Vivek Vani Competition
Each house sent their representatives, and every participant
dressed up as Swami Vivekananda, delivering his inspiring quotes and messages
with great enthusiasm and confidence.
The event not only celebrated the ideals of Swami
Vivekananda but also instilled in students the values of unity, brotherhood,
and dedication. It served as a platform to nurture their oratory skills and
inspire them to imbibe the teachings of Swamiji in their lives.

Tribute to Sudhakantha Dr. Bhupen Hazarika on his Birth Centenary

On 8th September 2025, VKV (NEEPCO), Bokuloni observed the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, one of the most extraordinary voices India has ever known. This year also marks the beginning of his birth centenary celebrations, making the occasion even more meaningful.
The programme was organized under the guidance of respected Principal Smt. Meghna Kakoty. Students of Class V presented soulful renditions of Bhupendra Sangeet, paying tribute to the bard whose songs have shaped generations. His music, rooted in compassion, unity, social justice, and cultural belonging, was remembered with reverence.
A musical workshop was also conducted by Ranjit Sir, where students were introduced to the cultural significance of Bhupen Da’s creations and learned about his timeless contributions beyond music—his role as a voice of the people, an artist, and a visionary.
In her address, Principal Smt. Meghna Kakoty reflected upon the towering personality of Bhupen Da, highlighting how his works continue to inspire harmony and humanity.
The heartfelt event concluded with Manglacharan, leaving the students with a deeper appreciation of the legacy of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika.
Teachers' Day Celebration

The Teacher’s Day Programme 2025 at
VKV Bokuloni began with our traditional ceremony dedicated to the teachers.
The students of Class X welcomed and washed the feet of the teachers symbolizing respect and gratitude seeking blessings for their bright future along with Aarti and applying tilak
to their beloved teachers.
The programme was hosted by the students of Class X. Anandita of Class X delivered a heartfelt welcome speech, setting the tone for the event. The programme was graced by Respected Principal Smt. Meghna Kakoty, who in her address, highlighted the noble role of teachers in the teaching-learning process, and expressed her gratitude to all the staff members for their constant support in the smooth functioning of VKV Bokuloni.
As a gesture of love, students presented handcrafted gifts, made during their summer vacation, to their teachers. All the gifts and decorations were handcrafted by students and were eco-friendly. They attended stitching workshops to make beautiful handkerchief for all staff members of school including paper bags. In a unique tradition, the students also role-played as teachers, taking classes and monitoring students, experiencing the responsibilities of teaching for the day.
The cultural programme featured
group songs, along with vibrant instrumental performances and
traditional music by students, which added to the festive spirit. Banashree
Didi delivered a thoughtful speech accompanied by a video presentation
emphasizing the importance of teachers in one’s life. The video suggested the
symbolic honor of addressing teachers with the title “Tr.” before their names.
The day’s celebration concluded
with Shantipath and the distribution of sweets among all.
The Teacher’s Day 2025 celebration

expression, truly honoring the guiding light of teachers in shaping young
