Observation of Sri Sri Madhav Dev Tithi

The Tithi of Sri Sri Madhav Dev was observed with deep reverence in the school library. All the teachers gathered together to pay homage to the great saint and offered flowers as a mark of respect and devotion.

The solemn occasion served as a heartfelt reminder of Madhav Dev’s immense contribution to the Bhakti Movement and his enduring teachings of devotion, discipline, and humanity. The observance inspired everyone present to uphold the values and spiritual ideals propagated by the saint, fostering a sense of cultural pride and moral responsibility among the school community.

Universal Brotherhood Day Celebration

Date: 11th September 2025

Venue: NRC Hall, AGBP, NEEPCO Bokuloni

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO) Bokuloni celebrated Universal Brotherhood Day with great enthusiasm and reverence. The programme was attended by the students of Class IX and X of VKV Bokuloni along with invited students from Bhadoi Junior College and Chichia Girls School, Bokuloni. More than 90 students from other schools actively participated, making the event vibrant and meaningful.




The event was graced by two eminent personalities —

Smti. Amiya Pathak Borpujari (Founder, Mrinaljyoti Rehabilitation Centre), an esteemed educationist. and Dr. Binita Pathak, renowned Climate Scientist, Member of ICTP (Trieste, Italy) and Member of ISRO & DST. 

The programme began with Manglacharan, followed by a Welcome Speech by Principal Smt. Meghna Kakoty, who also felicitated the guests with traditional Gamuchas, handcrafted by the students of VKV, NEEPCO, Bokuloni.  A group song was beautifully sung by the students of VKV Bokuloni. The famous Chicago speech of Swami Vivekananda was recited by Tanmoy Dutta of Class IX.


In her inspiring address, Dr. Binita Pathak emphasized the ideals and teachings of Swami Vivekananda, highlighting the need to practice his ideology in our daily lives—as students, as teachers, and as responsible human beings. She reminded everyone of Swamiji’s message that we are all brothers and sisters, bound by universal love and harmony.

Smti. Amiya Pathak Borpujari, in her motivational address, advised the students to focus on their goals and work hard with determination until they are achieved.

The programme concluded with Shantipath, leaving the participants enriched with the spirit of unity and brotherhood.

Vivek Vani Competition


 

On the occasion of Universal Brotherhood Day (10th September 2025), the school conducted a Vivek Vani Competition (60 seconds) for students from Class VI to Class VIII, organized house-wise.

Each house sent their representatives, and every participant dressed up as Swami Vivekananda, delivering his inspiring quotes and messages with great enthusiasm and confidence.

The event not only celebrated the ideals of Swami Vivekananda but also instilled in students the values of unity, brotherhood, and dedication. It served as a platform to nurture their oratory skills and inspire them to imbibe the teachings of Swamiji in their lives.

Tribute to Sudhakantha Dr. Bhupen Hazarika on his Birth Centenary

On 8th September 2025, VKV (NEEPCO), Bokuloni observed the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, one of the most extraordinary voices India has ever known. This year also marks the beginning of his birth centenary celebrations, making the occasion even more meaningful.


The programme was organized under the guidance of respected Principal Smt. Meghna Kakoty. Students of Class V presented soulful renditions of Bhupendra Sangeet, paying tribute to the bard whose songs have shaped generations. His music, rooted in compassion, unity, social justice, and cultural belonging, was remembered with reverence.

A musical workshop was also conducted by Ranjit Sir, where students were introduced to the cultural significance of Bhupen Da’s creations and learned about his timeless contributions beyond music—his role as a voice of the people, an artist, and a visionary.

In her address, Principal Smt. Meghna Kakoty reflected upon the towering personality of Bhupen Da, highlighting how his works continue to inspire harmony and humanity.

The heartfelt event concluded with Manglacharan, leaving the students with a deeper appreciation of the legacy of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika.

Teachers' Day Celebration

The Teacher’s Day Programme 2025 at VKV Bokuloni began with our traditional ceremony dedicated to the teachers. The students of Class X welcomed and washed the feet of the teachers symbolizing respect and gratitude seeking blessings for their bright future along with Aarti and applying tilak to their beloved teachers.



The programme was hosted by the students of Class X. Anandita of Class X delivered a heartfelt welcome speech, setting the tone for the event. The programme was graced by Respected Principal Smt. Meghna Kakoty, who in her address, highlighted the noble role of teachers in the teaching-learning process, and expressed her gratitude to all the staff members for their constant support in the smooth functioning of VKV Bokuloni.



As a gesture of love, students presented handcrafted gifts, made during their summer vacation, to their teachers. All the gifts and decorations were handcrafted by students and were eco-friendly. They attended stitching workshops to make beautiful handkerchief for all staff members of school including paper bags. In a unique tradition, the students also role-played as teachers, taking classes and monitoring students, experiencing the responsibilities of teaching for the day.

The cultural programme featured group songs, along with vibrant instrumental performances and traditional music by students, which added to the festive spirit. Banashree Didi delivered a thoughtful speech accompanied by a video presentation emphasizing the importance of teachers in one’s life. The video suggested the symbolic honor of addressing teachers with the title “Tr.” before their names.

The day’s celebration concluded with Shantipath and the distribution of sweets among all.

The Teacher’s Day 2025 celebration at VKV Bokuloni was a beautiful blend of reverence, creativity, and cultural expression, truly honoring the guiding light of teachers in shaping young minds.


State Sports Day 2025

State Sports Day Celebration – 2025

Date: 3rd September 2025

Venue: VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni

Every year on 3rd September, Assam observes State Sports Day to honor the legendary sprinter Arjuna Awardee Bhogeswar Baruah, the first Assamese athlete to win a Gold Medal at an international event — the 1966 Asian Games in Bangkok.

This year, VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni observed the day with great enthusiasm. The programme began with Manglacharan by Sanjukta Kar from Class I. Following this, Darshit Gogoi from Class II delivered the Welcome Speech and spoke about the significance of the day.

To inspire the students, Bir Kumar Sir and Pranshu Didi addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of sports, games, and regular exercise in building a healthy body and mind.

A Marathon Race was then organized for the students from Bal Vatika-II to Class II, conducted class-wise. The event was filled with excitement and competitive spirit. The winners were honored with medals, which motivated all the participants.

The programme concluded with Shantipath, spreading positivity and discipline among the students.

The observance of State Sports Day 2025 not only paid tribute to the sporting legend Bhogeswar Baruah but also encouraged students to embrace fitness, discipline, and sportsmanship in their daily lives.

Karam Puja at VKV Bokuloni: Honoring Nature and Cultural Heritage

Inspired by the challenges and potentialities of Indian culture, as expressed by Mananeeya Nivedita Didi, VKV Bokuloni observes Karam Puja on 3rd September 2025, a celebration in which nature is worshipped. Nivedita Didi beautifully articulates this ethos: "Everything in this existence is viewed as interconnected, interrelated, and interdependent."

Karam Puja is a significant part of the cultural identity of the Tea Tribes in Assam. It is a way to preserve their traditions and pass them on to future generation. The worship of nature is at the heart of Karam Puja. In VKV Bokuloni, we observed to make children reflect the community's deep respect for nature, particularly the Karam tree, which is considered sacred.

The programme began with Manglacharan, creating a devotional atmosphere. Veer Sir initiated the celebration with a speech, highlighting the significance of Karam Puja and its traditional importance among the Tea Tribes. His words inspired students to appreciate the cultural diversity and ecological wisdom embedded in the festival.

The event was further graced by Respected Principal Smt. Meghna Kakoty, who addressed the gathering and emphasized the need to uphold cultural traditions while fostering unity and respect for the environment.

Adding joy to the celebration, the students of Classes I and II presented a vibrant group dance performance, showcasing their enthusiasm and innocence. Their presentation brought festive spirit to the occasion and was warmly appreciated by all present.


The festival also has mythological roots. The story associated with Karam Puja involves the deities Karam Raja and Karam Devi, reflecting themes of harmony, devotion, and the balance between nature and human life. During the observation, our teacher  narrated stories related to Karam Puja, providing moral and ethical lessons derived from their cultural folklore.

The celebration of Karam Puja at VKV Bokuloni not only connected students to local traditions but also nurtured values of cultural pride, environmental consciousness, and community harmony.

 Celebrating Karam Puja is not just a religious observance; Its a reaffirmation of the cultural heritage of the Tea Tribes and their deep connection with nature and community life.

Dehing Patkai Butterfly and Biodiversity Trail (3rd Edition)

Date: 3rd September 2025

Time: 8:00 am – 4:00 pmmhgh

Venue: Forest area of Dihing Patkai

A group of 15 students from Classes VI to IX of VKV Bokuloni, accompanied by Chandana Didi, participated in the 3rd Edition of the Butterfly and Biodiversity Trail organized at Dihing Patkai.

The programme was hosted by RAINFOREST India, Northeast Budding Tourist and Tales of North East, and sponsored by INFFS, NE Narrative, and Wild Feathers, in collaboration with the Assam Forest Department, Digboi Range.

During the day-long programme, students:

  • Visited the forest areas and participated in a forest walk
  • Took photographs and identified various species of butterflies
  • Observed and learned about the types of butterflies and other species present in the park

The resource person was Shri Rajib Rudra Tariang, HOD, Department of Zoology, Digboi College, who guided the students throughout the trail and shared valuable information on biodiversity conservation.

All the participating students were awarded participation certificates for their enthusiastic involvement and keen observations.

The programme was an enriching experience that helped students build awareness about biodiversity and the importance of conservation.


National Sports Day 2025

VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni celebrated National Sports Day 2025 in fond memory of Major Dhyan Chand, the legendary hockey player of India. To mark the occasion, the school organized an Inter-House Football Tournament for both boys’ and girls’ categories, encouraging participation, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

The programme began with Manglacharan, followed by anchoring conducted by Naina Sharma, a student of Class (IX). A warm welcome speech was delivered by Kunal Chetia (Class X), who also highlighted the significance of the day and the invaluable contributions of Major Dhyan Chand to Indian sports.

The school had the privilege of hosting Shri Pinkumoni Hazarika, Indian Railway Football Coach from Tinsukia, as the Chief Guest. In his address, he guided the students about the basic skills of football, explained the importance of avoiding fouls, and motivated them to take up sports as a path of discipline, fitness, and even future opportunities.

Following his inspiring words, the Inter-House Boys’ Football Match was played with enthusiasm and healthy competition, creating an atmosphere of excitement across the campus.

The celebration concluded with the chanting of Shanti Path, marking the end of a memorable day dedicated to the spirit of sports.

Srimanta Shankardev's Tirubhav Tithi

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO) Bokuloni, celebrated Shakardev Tirubhav Tithi with great devotion and enthusiasm on 25th August 2025. The program commenced with the Mangalacharan, creating a serene and spiritual atmosphere.


A special exhibition on the life and creations of Mahapurush Srimanta Shankardev was inaugurated by the Principal, VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni, Smt. Meghna Kakoty. The inauguration was accompanied by a graceful Gayan Bayan performance by the students, which was later displayed for all the attendees. Students of Classes III, IV, and V actively participated in the celebration.

Priyanka Didi addressed the gathering and enlightened the students with her valuable words, highlighting the teachings and contributions of Srimanta Shankardev. Following this, Ripunjoy Gogoi, a student of Class IV, mesmerized everyone with a melodious flute performance. Aradhya Priyambada Pathak along with Ranjit Sir presented two soulful Borgeets, enriching the devotional fervor of the occasion.

The students further offered a heartfelt performance of Diha Naam, which reflected the rich cultural traditions propagated by Shankardev.

The program concluded with the chanting of Shanti Path, spreading a message of peace and harmony among the participants followed by Prasad distribution.

Overall, the celebration was a memorable and spiritually uplifting experience for both students and teachers, instilling in everyone the values and legacy of Srimanta Shankardev.

Janmashtami Celebration

 Date: 16th August 2025

Venue: Rongili Ting Village

On 16th August 2025, VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni observed Janmashtami, the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, with devotion and reverence. To mark the occasion, a few students of Class IV,V, and VI accompanied by teaching staff, visited the nearby village Rongli Ting for Gau Seva.


The activity was guided by teachers  Jyotsna Didi, Sushila Didi, Bornali Didi, Papu Didi, Priyanka Didi,  Shabnam Didi,Veer Sir, Samar Sir and Abhishek Sir,. The programme highlighted the significance of Lord Krishna’s love for cows.

Students, along with teachers, worshipped and fed the cows, offering fruits, grass, and other eatables as a mark of devotion. The activity created a spiritual atmosphere while also teaching the values of compassion, service, and respect for all living beings.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

Date: 15th August 2025

Venue: VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni

On the 15th of August 2025, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO) Bokuloni, commemorated India's 79th Independence Day with patriotic fervor and enthusiasm. The event took place on the school grounds, beginning promptly at 6:40 AM. The NCC team, along with students from Classes VI to X, assembled for the flag hoisting ceremony.


The program commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony, where the National Flag was unfurled by Mananeeya Prabin Dabholkar Ji (Treasurer, VKV Kendra  Kanyakumari), along with Smt. Meghna Kakoty,  Principal VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem. This was a moment of great pride for all present, reflecting the spirit of unity and freedom. 

After the flag hoisting, the Principal delivered a motivational speech, inspiring students to be responsible citizens followed by chanting of the Swadesh Mantra led by Anindita Borah (Class X), setting a patriotic and spiritual tone for the day.

Anindita Borah also delivered a speech with a beautiful message on the significance of Independence Day.

A special highlight was the speech by the Chief Guest, Mananeeya Prabin Dabholkar Ji (Treasurer, VKV Kendra Kanyakumari) emphasizing the importance of independence and the role of young students in shaping the future of the nation. In his address, Mananeeya Prabin Ji conveyed a heartfelt message, urging students to uphold the values of unity, dedication, and service to the nation.

The occasion also witnessed the distribution of prizes for the CBSE Cluster NE Kho-Kho Tournament, and District Level Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshan, presented by Shri Prabin Ji.

The event concluded with the distribution of sweets to all participants, marking the end of a memorable and spirited celebration.

NEEPCO PROGRAM:

The celebration began with the hoisting of the National Flag by Sri Opang Ering Sir, Head of Project (HOP), AGBPS, NEEPCO. This was followed by a solemn Guard of Honour presented by the NEEPCO Security Personnel, instilling a sense of pride and respect among all attendees.

After the flag hoisting, the HOP addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of Independence Day and reflecting on the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters. His speech resonated with the audience, reminding everyone of their responsibilities towards the nation.

The highlight of the event was the Cultural Programme performed by the students of VKV, Bokuloni. The students showcased their talents through a group song by the NCC cadets and a dance drama on the Struggle of our Freedom Fighters for Independence. The program was well-received and added a festive spirit to the occasion.


Following the cultural performances, a special felicitation ceremony took place. The wards of NEEPCO employees who had excelled in academics and other fields were honored, recognizing their hard work and dedication.

The Independence Day celebration at NEEPCO, Bokuloni, was a grand success, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of patriotism and unity. The participation of the students from VKV, Bokuloni, played a significant role in making the event memorable.

RAKSHA BANDHAN CELEBRATION

DATE: 9TH AUGUST 2025

VENUE: VKV NEEPCO BOKULONI

Our Vidyalaya celebrated Raksha Bandhan with devotion, joy, and a focus on creativity and sustainability.



The programme began with Mangalacharan, setting a serene and auspicious tone for the event. Ranjit Sir rendered a melodious song celebrating the bond between brothers and sisters, filling the atmosphere with warmth and affection. Smt. Meghna Kakoty, Principal VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni, ceremoniously tied a rakhi on the portrait of Swami Vivekananda, symbolizing love, respect, and unity.

Following this, students from all classes tied rakhis to their classmates, signifying the special bond of care and protection between brothers and sisters. The occasion was not only a cultural celebration but also an opportunity for skill enhancement.


A group went to a special school to distribute sweets and tie rakhi.

Eco-Friendly Rakhi Making from Pani Meteka


Students of VKV Bokuloni crafted Rakhis from water hyacinth, known locally as Pani Meteka. This initiative, under 'Skill Speaks Louder Than Words', highlighted creativity and sustainability. The hands-on project encouraged resourcefulness, turning invasive plants into beautiful handicrafts, thereby fostering environmental awareness and skill development among students.
