Srimanta Shankardev's Tirubhav Tithi

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO) Bokuloni, celebrated Shakardev Tirubhav Tithi with great devotion and enthusiasm on 25th August 2025. The program commenced with the Mangalacharan, creating a serene and spiritual atmosphere.


A special exhibition on the life and creations of Mahapurush Srimanta Shankardev was inaugurated by the Principal, VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni, Smt. Meghna Kakoty. The inauguration was accompanied by a graceful Gayan Bayan performance by the students, which was later displayed for all the attendees. Students of Classes III, IV, and V actively participated in the celebration.

Priyanka Didi addressed the gathering and enlightened the students with her valuable words, highlighting the teachings and contributions of Srimanta Shankardev. Following this, Ripunjoy Gogoi, a student of Class IV, mesmerized everyone with a melodious flute performance. Aradhya Priyambada Pathak along with Ranjit Sir presented two soulful Borgeets, enriching the devotional fervor of the occasion.

The students further offered a heartfelt performance of Diha Naam, which reflected the rich cultural traditions propagated by Shankardev.

The program concluded with the chanting of Shanti Path, spreading a message of peace and harmony among the participants followed by Prasad distribution.

Overall, the celebration was a memorable and spiritually uplifting experience for both students and teachers, instilling in everyone the values and legacy of Srimanta Shankardev.

Janmashtami Celebration

 Date: 16th August 2025

Venue: Rongili Ting Village

On 16th August 2025, VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni observed Janmashtami, the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, with devotion and reverence. To mark the occasion, a few students of Class IV,V, and VI accompanied by teaching staff, visited the nearby village Rongli Ting for Gau Seva.


The activity was guided by teachers  Jyotsna Didi, Sushila Didi, Bornali Didi, Papu Didi, Priyanka Didi,  Shabnam Didi,Veer Sir, Samar Sir and Abhishek Sir,. The programme highlighted the significance of Lord Krishna’s love for cows.

Students, along with teachers, worshipped and fed the cows, offering fruits, grass, and other eatables as a mark of devotion. The activity created a spiritual atmosphere while also teaching the values of compassion, service, and respect for all living beings.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

Date: 15th August 2025

Venue: VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni

On the 15th of August 2025, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO) Bokuloni, commemorated India's 79th Independence Day with patriotic fervor and enthusiasm. The event took place on the school grounds, beginning promptly at 6:40 AM. The NCC team, along with students from Classes VI to X, assembled for the flag hoisting ceremony.


The program commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony, where the National Flag was unfurled by Mananeeya Prabin Dabholkar Ji (Treasurer, VKV Kendra  Kanyakumari), along with Smt. Meghna Kakoty,  Principal VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem. This was a moment of great pride for all present, reflecting the spirit of unity and freedom. 

After the flag hoisting, the Principal delivered a motivational speech, inspiring students to be responsible citizens followed by chanting of the Swadesh Mantra led by Anindita Borah (Class X), setting a patriotic and spiritual tone for the day.

Anindita Borah also delivered a speech with a beautiful message on the significance of Independence Day.

A special highlight was the speech by the Chief Guest, Mananeeya Prabin Dabholkar Ji (Treasurer, VKV Kendra Kanyakumari) emphasizing the importance of independence and the role of young students in shaping the future of the nation. In his address, Mananeeya Prabin Ji conveyed a heartfelt message, urging students to uphold the values of unity, dedication, and service to the nation.

The occasion also witnessed the distribution of prizes for the CBSE Cluster NE Kho-Kho Tournament, and District Level Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshan, presented by Shri Prabin Ji.

The event concluded with the distribution of sweets to all participants, marking the end of a memorable and spirited celebration.

NEEPCO PROGRAM:

The celebration began with the hoisting of the National Flag by Sri Opang Ering Sir, Head of Project (HOP), AGBPS, NEEPCO. This was followed by a solemn Guard of Honour presented by the NEEPCO Security Personnel, instilling a sense of pride and respect among all attendees.

After the flag hoisting, the HOP addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of Independence Day and reflecting on the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters. His speech resonated with the audience, reminding everyone of their responsibilities towards the nation.

The highlight of the event was the Cultural Programme performed by the students of VKV, Bokuloni. The students showcased their talents through a group song by the NCC cadets and a dance drama on the Struggle of our Freedom Fighters for Independence. The program was well-received and added a festive spirit to the occasion.


Following the cultural performances, a special felicitation ceremony took place. The wards of NEEPCO employees who had excelled in academics and other fields were honored, recognizing their hard work and dedication.

The Independence Day celebration at NEEPCO, Bokuloni, was a grand success, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of patriotism and unity. The participation of the students from VKV, Bokuloni, played a significant role in making the event memorable.

RAKSHA BANDHAN CELEBRATION

DATE: 9TH AUGUST 2025

VENUE: VKV NEEPCO BOKULONI

Our Vidyalaya celebrated Raksha Bandhan with devotion, joy, and a focus on creativity and sustainability.



The programme began with Mangalacharan, setting a serene and auspicious tone for the event. Ranjit Sir rendered a melodious song celebrating the bond between brothers and sisters, filling the atmosphere with warmth and affection. Smt. Meghna Kakoty, Principal VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni, ceremoniously tied a rakhi on the portrait of Swami Vivekananda, symbolizing love, respect, and unity.

Following this, students from all classes tied rakhis to their classmates, signifying the special bond of care and protection between brothers and sisters. The occasion was not only a cultural celebration but also an opportunity for skill enhancement.


A group went to a special school to distribute sweets and tie rakhi.

Eco-Friendly Rakhi Making from Pani Meteka


Students of VKV Bokuloni crafted Rakhis from water hyacinth, known locally as Pani Meteka. This initiative, under 'Skill Speaks Louder Than Words', highlighted creativity and sustainability. The hands-on project encouraged resourcefulness, turning invasive plants into beautiful handicrafts, thereby fostering environmental awareness and skill development among students.

Fruit Salad Festival

Students of class IV celebrated Fruit Salad Festival on 08/08/2025 with great enthusiasm under the guidance of Sushila Chetry Didi.

Students brought a variety of fresh fruits and other necessary items to prepare healthy and delicious fruit salads. They actively participated in cutting, mixing, and serving the salad, learning the values of teamwork, cleanliness, and healthy eating.

The event was enjoyable and educational, helping students understand the importance of including fruits in their daily diet. It was a delightful experience for all.


Pineapple Jam Making

The students of Vivekananda Kendra NEEPCO Bokuloni engaged in a hands-on Pineapple Jam making activity, embodying the philosophy that skill speaks louder than words. This practical initiative aimed to enhance learning through experience, develop culinary skills, and promote teamwork.

Objective

- To provide practical exposure to students in food processing.

- To encourage teamwork and collaboration among students.

- To impart knowledge about the nutritional benefits of homemade products.

The jam-making session was conducted during summer vacation in the school attended by students of class 10. The session was facilitated by teachers.

   - Students gathered fresh pineapples and other necessary ingredients.

   - Hygiene protocols were emphasized, ensuring a clean working environment

Students were divided into small groups, each tasked with specific roles such as peeling, chopping, boiling, and stirring.

   - Under the guidance of the facilitators, students followed the jam-making process meticulously.

   - Techniques on balancing flavors and achieving the perfect consistency were shared.

The process culminated in the production of delicious pineapple jam, which was then shared and enjoyed by everyone.

Students learnt the art of jam making, from ingredient preparation to final packaging. The activity fostered a sense of unity and cooperative learning. Encouraged students to think creatively about flavors and presentation.

The pineapple jam-making activity was a great success, demonstrating that practical skills can vastly enhance theoretical knowledge. It was encouraging to see students apply themselves with enthusiasm, and the outcome is a testament to their dedicated effort.

Guru Purnima Celebration – Pitru Puja

On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya NEEPCO, Bokuloni organized a unique and heartwarming celebration  'Pitru Puja'. The event aimed to honor the role of fathers as the first guru in a child’s life.

The programme invited fathers of Class VII students, with more than 39 fathers attending and participating in the spiritual and emotional celebration.

 



Programme Highlights:

·         The event began in the Prayer Hall, where each child washed the feet of their father, symbolizing humility, respect, and gratitude. After the ritual, they sought blessings from their fathers.

·         Tilakam marking the ceremonial beginning of the puja.

·         Sanjay Sir led the Puja rituals, where fathers were respectfully seated, and children performed Aarti, offered sweets, and took blessings with devotion.

·         Principal Didi warmly welcomed each and every parent and appreciated their presence and involvement.

·         Jyotsna Didi delivered a heartfelt speech on the importance of a father’s role in shaping a child’s life, emphasizing the value of fatherhood as guidance and strength.

·         A few fathers also shared their thoughts and expressed appreciation for the school’s thoughtful initiative in organizing such a meaningful event.

·         The celebration concluded with the distribution of prasad among all staff, students, and parents.




The Guru Purnima celebration at VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni was an emotional and spiritually enriching experience. The “Pitru Puja” beautifully reinforced the traditional values of reverence and gratitude towards one’s parents, especially the father as a guiding figure. The school remains committed to nurturing such values that promote respect, family bonding, and cultural awareness in students.

Swami Vivekananda's Punya Tithi

On 4th July 2025, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya NEEPCO, Bokuloni solemnly observed the Punya Tithi (Mahasamadhi Day) of Swami Vivekananda, the guiding inspiration of the Vidyalaya and a spiritual luminary who continues to shape the ideals of Indian youth.

The programme was held in the Prayer Hall, where all teaching staff and students gathered to pay homage to the revered soul. The event began with prayers and devotional chanting, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere. 

Teachers and students from every class offered Pushpanjali (floral tribute) to Swamiji with utmost reverence and devotion. The act symbolized gratitude and deep respect for Swamiji’s teachings, ideals, and eternal presence in the heart of every seeker and learner.

The observance of Swamiji’s Punya Tithi was a moment of collective reflection and reverence. It reaffirmed VKV’s commitment to uphold the values and vision of Swami Vivekananda in nurturing disciplined, spiritually grounded, and socially responsible individuals.

Capacity Building Programme on Mental Health And Awareness Among Students – 2025

Date: 2nd July 2025

Venue: VKV (NEEPCO), Bokuloni

VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni hosted a Capacity Building Programme (CBP) on the theme “Promoting Mental Health and Awareness Among Students”, organized by the CBSE Headquarters / Centre of Excellence, Guwahati. The session aimed to equip educators with knowledge and practical strategies to support student well-being and create a mentally healthy school environment.

The programme was conducted by Smt. Rita Kamalapuri, Principal of Assam Public School, Duliajan, a respected educational leader with vast experience in student mental health and well-being.




Highlights of the Programme:

  • The session began with a prayer and chanting of three Omkaras, setting a calm and focused tone for the day.
  • Ms. Kamalapuri shared insightful strategies for early identification of mental health challenges and the role of teachers in building emotional resilience among students.
  • Educators explored techniques to promote empathy, communication, and trust within the classroom environment.
  • The session encouraged schools to integrate mental well-being into daily practices and curriculum.

Approximately 40 teachers from VKV Bokuloni and Assam Height Gurukul School, Moranhat actively participated in the programme. The resource person was felicitated with a hand-woven Assamese traditional Gamucha, crafted by VKV Bokuloni students, as a token of gratitude and cultural pride.




The programme offered a valuable opportunity for educators to deepen their understanding of student mental health and reinforced the school's commitment to nurturing holistic development — academic, emotional, and social — in every learner.

Building a Drug-Free Future: International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

On the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni organized a special programme to raise awareness about the dangers of substance abuse and to promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle among students.

The event commenced with the chanting of Mangalacharan, led by Cadet Anindita Borah, setting a disciplined and spiritual tone. This was followed by a Welcome Speech delivered by Cadet Richita Das, warmly addressing the gathering.

As a proud moment for the school, Principal Didi felicitated Cadet Aditi Limbo and Gargi Sonowal, who recently participated in the Subroto Cup Trials and Selection for the U-17 Girls Football Team, held in Aizwal from 11th to 20th June 2025. Their achievement was a source of inspiration for all.

In her address, Principal Didi emphasized the importance of awareness and education regarding substance use and its consequences, highlighting the vital role of students in building a drug-free society.

Activities Conducted:

Lecture Session: ANO Pransumoni Borah delivered an informative and heartfelt session on the dangers of substance abuse, sharing real-life experiences and practical insights to connect with students on a personal level.




Key Outcomes:

  1. Increased Awareness: Students gained a deeper understanding of the harmful effects of drugs and the importance of making informed, healthy choices.
  2. Motivation: The session inspired students to become ambassadors of a drug-free community.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Cadet Nisha Gogoi, expressing gratitude to all contributors and attendees. The Anti-Drug Day celebration was a meaningful and impactful event. It successfully encouraged students to reflect on their choices and empowered them to lead a life of health, discipline, and responsibility. INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY CELEBRATION 2025

 Date: 21st June 2025


On the occasion of
International Yoga Day, VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni organized a well-coordinated celebration in four different locations, ensuring the involvement of students, staff, and local community members.


Yoga in Mud: Baalvatika II and Baalvatika III performed Yoga in Mud guided by Bir Kumar Sir.Practicing yoga in mud offers several benefits for small children. The tactile experience of mud enhances sensory development and encourages exploration, helping children connect with nature. It improves balance and coordination as the uneven surface challenges stability. Mud yoga promotes creativity and imagination through playful poses and movements. The earthy environment can reduce stress and increase relaxation, fostering a sense of calm.



Mudras and Pranayama Practice Session (Classes 1 to 3): This session was guided by Pranshu Didi



In-School Session (Classes 4 to 9): Conducted in the school premises, this session was led by Ranjit Sir and Pranshu Didi. Students enthusiastically participated in yoga asanas, pranayama, and learned about the importance of regular yoga practice for physical and mental well-being.



Community Hall Session (Class 10): Senior students attended a focused session at the Community Hall under the guidance of Sudhir Sir, Chandana Didi, Alankrita Didi and Shabnam Didi. The session emphasized yoga’s role in improving concentration and stress management, especially useful during adolescence.


Outreach at Madhuting Tea Estate: A remarkable community-based yoga event was held at Madhuting Tea Estate at 9 AM. It saw over 68 participants, including local students, villagers, and medical staff.

Mahabirbari Tea Workers’ Session: A special yoga camp for local tea garden workers at Mahabirbari was successfully conducted by VKV, with Bir Kumar Panika Sir as the teacher in-charge. The session aimed at providing physical relaxation and mindfulness techniques to the workers through simple yoga practices.



The event showcased holistic education and community integration as key values of VKV. It emphasized the practical application of yoga for diverse age groups and social sections. The coordination among teachers and active student involvement highlighted the spirit of teamwork and service.
