Zubeen Garg Divas

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO) Bokuloni, observed Zubeen Garg Divas with deep respect and remembrance, celebrating the extraordinary contribution of the legendary Assamese singer, composer, musician and cultural icon, Zubeen Garg.

The programme provided an opportunity for the students and teachers to remember his remarkable contribution to Assamese music, cinema and culture. Through songs, poems, reflections and discussions, the teachers expressed their admiration for his artistic journey and his deep connection with the people and culture of Assam.

The programme highlighted how Zubeen Garg’s music transcended generations and became an integral part of Assamese identity. His versatility, creativity and contribution to the cultural landscape of Assam continue to inspire generations.

The observance concluded with a heartfelt tribute to the legendary artist, whose music and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of the people.

Vishwakarma Puja

Vishwakarma Puja was celebrated at VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni, with devotion, seeking the blessings of Lord Vishwakarma for progress, prosperity, and excellence. The celebration highlighted the importance of respecting tools, technology, and the spirit of skilled work.

Srimanta Sankardev Tithi

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO), Bokuloni, observed Sankardev Tithi with devotion and spiritual fervour. The programme commenced with Mangalacharan, followed by a brief speech highlighting the life, teachings and contributions of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardev.

A group of around ten women from the NEEPCO Namghar graced the occasion and led the congregation in a soulful Naam Prasanga. The traditional Naam was performed with great devotion, accompanied by the ceremonial presentation of Horai, reflecting the rich spiritual and cultural heritage of Assam.

The programme concluded with the distribution of Prasad among the participants, followed by Shanti Path. The celebration provided an opportunity for the students and teachers to learn about and appreciate the enduring values of devotion, unity, compassion and cultural harmony propagated by Srimanta Sankardev.

The programme was conducted in a serene and spiritually uplifting atmosphere, leaving everyone with a sense of devotion and respect for Assam’s rich cultural heritage.

Universal Brotherhood Day Celebration

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO), Bokuloni, celebrated Universal Brotherhood Day on 11th September 2026. The programme commemorated the historic message of universal brotherhood and harmony propagated by Swami Vivekananda.

The programme was graced by Chief Guest Sri. Opang Ering Sir( HOP, AGBP NEEPCO , Bokuloni) and Guest of Honour Dr. Munmi Konwar, Assistant Professor, Duliajan College, Department of Assamese. Teachers and students from the participating schools—Chi Chia High School, Eklavya Junior College and Bokuloni Jatiya Vidyalaya—also joined the programme. The participating-school teachers actively guided and encouraged their students throughout the event.

The programme commenced with Mangalacharan, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and Pushpanjali. The dignitaries were felicitated by the Principal, and a warm welcome address was delivered. Students presented a group song, followed by a Chicago Speech by VKV student Kasturi Bora, highlighting Swami Vivekananda’s historic address and his message of Universal brotherhood.

The programme also featured speeches by the dignitaries, group performances and a dance presentation by the students. A Chicago Speech was also presented by a student of the participating schools, providing an opportunity for students from different institutions to share the message of Swami Vivekananda.

Another significant moment was the felicitation of the Class X students of the 2025–26 batch by the Principal. NCC ‘A’ Certificates were also distributed to the former Class X students, recognising their dedication, discipline and successful completion of the NCC programme.

A special highlight of the programme was the unveiling of the House Board based on the theme “The Glory of Bharat”, showcasing India’s remarkable contributions in the fields of Science, Literature, Mathematics and Astronomy. The display reflected the rich intellectual and scientific heritage of Bharat and inspired students to take pride in the nation’s glorious past.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Sudip Sir, followed by Shantipath presented by the students.

The celebration served as a meaningful platform for students and teachers from different schools to come together, learn from one another and reaffirm the ideals of unity, harmony, mutual respect and universal brotherhood. The programme successfully conveyed the timeless message of Swami Vivekananda— to respect diversity while recognising the unity that binds humanity together.

Bhupen Hazarika Diwas

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO), Bokuloni observed Bhupen Hazarika Diwas on 8 September 2026 during the morning assembly. The programme included Mangalacharan, ceremonial lamp lighting, a brief note on the significance of the day, and melodious Bhupendra Sangeet presented by the students of Balvatika III to Class IV.

A soulful tribute to Dr. Bhupen Hazarika on his 100th birth anniversary, presented by our 100 talented students.

The programme concluded with Shantipath, paying a heartfelt tribute to the legendary singer and cultural icon.

Teachers’ Day Celebration

Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and warmth at VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni. The celebration provided students an opportunity to express their gratitude and appreciation for their teachers.

As part of the celebration, the students of Class X took on the role of teachers and conducted classes, while the teachers observed their performances. This was followed by a colourful programme presented by the students of Class X, including speeches, experience sharing, songs and an orchestra performance.

The results of the class observation were also announced, recognising the students who demonstrated commendable teaching skills. The programme concluded with an inspiring speech by the Principal, who appreciated the efforts of the students and highlighted the importance of teachers in shaping young minds.

The celebration was a memorable and meaningful tribute to the dedication and contribution of teachers.

Janmashtami Celebration

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO), Bokuloni organized a Janmashtami celebration for the academic session 2026-27 at the Community Hall on 4th September, 2026. The programme was hosted for the primary section, covering classes Balvatika I to V, and was anchored by Jyotsna Srivastava. The celebration brought together devotional performances, enactments, and a friendly competition to mark the significance of the occasion for the young students.

The programme commenced with Mangalacharan, an invocation presented by anchor Jyotsna Srivastava, setting a devotional tone for the celebration.

The ceremonial lighting of the lamp was performed by the Principal, marking the formal inauguration of the event. Prapti Borpujari Didi addressed the gathering on the significance of Janmasthami, explaining the relevance and importance of the occasion to the students.Students of Classes IV and V presented a Krishna Bhajan, guided by Ranjit Domai, adding a devotional musical element to the programme.

A presentation on Nandotsav was enacted by the students of Class II under the guidance of Prapti Borpujari.

Students of Class III performed an enactment of Kaliya Daman, guided by Priyanka Devi, depicting this well-known episode associated with Lord Krishna.

The programme concluded with the ever-popular ‘Go As You Like’ fancy dress competition. For Balvatika I, the participants were judged by Prapti Borpujari and Samar Chiring, while for Balvatika II, the judges were Pranshumoni Borah and Priyanka Devi. The competition allowed the youngest learners to creatively present themselves through costume and expression.

The Janmasthami celebration (2026-27) at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO), Bokuloni was conducted successfully with active participation from students of Balvatika I to Class V. Through devotional recitations, musical presentations, enactments, and the fancy dress competition, the programme provided students a meaningful and engaging introduction to the significance of the festival, while also nurturing their confidence and creative expression.

Madhav Dev Tithi

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO), Bokuloni observed Madhav Dev Tithi on 1st September 2026 in the Prayer Hall during the second period. The programme was attended by students of Balvatika III to Class V.

The programme commenced with Mangalacharan, invoking divine blessings for the smooth conduct of the celebration. This was followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Principal, marking the formal inauguration of the event.

Chandana Pathak highlighted the significance of the day, enlightening the students about the life and teachings of Srimanta Madhavdev and his contribution to the Neo-Vaishnavite movement of Assam. Students of Balvatika III to Class III presented a melodious Borgeet, guided by Ranjit Sir, which added a devotional and cultural charm to the occasion. The programme concluded with the recitation of Shantipath, invoking peace and harmony.

The celebration provided the students with a valuable opportunity to learn about the spiritual and cultural heritage of Assam and to imbibe the values of devotion, discipline and harmony.

National Sports Day

VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni celebrated National Sports Day with great enthusiasm on the birth anniversary of legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, the “Wizard of Hockey.”

The programme began with Pushpanjali to Major Dhyan Chand, followed by a display highlighting his life and achievements. The celebration also featured an exciting Inter-House Volleyball Tournament, where students demonstrated teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship.

The Principal addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance of this year’s theme, “Khelega Bharat, Jeetega Bharat.” He encouraged students to participate actively in sports and adopt a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.

The celebration concluded with renewed enthusiasm among the students to embrace the spirit of sports and fitness.

Raksha Bandhan Celebration

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO), Bokuloni celebrated Raksha Bandhan and Sanskrit Diwas on 28 August 2026 with a spirit of brotherhood, cultural harmony and togetherness. The programme was held at the NEEPCO Community Hall .

The programme began with Mangalacharan, followed by a group song presented by the students. A speech highlighting the significance of Raksha Bandhan and Sanskrit Diwas was delivered emphasising the values of love, respect, protection and the importance of preserving our rich cultural heritage.

As a special gesture of affection and respect, the teachers tied Rakhis to Swami Vivekananda Ji, symbolising the sacred bond of protection and dedication to the ideals of Swami Vivekananda. This was followed by a Rakhi-tying ceremony, in which the spirit of mutual respect and brotherhood was beautifully expressed.

As part of the celebration, the students, accompanied by teachers, also visited various NEEPCO establishments  including the NEEPCO Office, Civil Department, Hospital and Bank. Rakhis were tied to the staff members as a gesture of goodwill, respect and affection. The visits strengthened the bond between the school and the NEEPCO community and conveyed the message of universal brotherhood and harmonious relationships.

The celebration was a meaningful blend of tradition, cultural awareness, respect and community bonding, leaving everyone with a sense of joy and togetherness.

Sanskrit Diwas – Gita Chanting Competition

On the occasion of Sanskrit Diwas, a Gita Chanting Competition was organised on 27th August 2026 in collaboration with Chinmaya Mission. The students enthusiastically participated in the chanting of Chapter 12 of the Bhagavad Gita – Bhakti Yoga from classes IV to IX

The programme provided the students with an opportunity to learn and recite the verses of the Bhagavad Gita with proper pronunciation, rhythm and devotion. Their enthusiastic participation reflected their interest in Sanskrit and the timeless teachings of the Bhagavad Gita.

The initiative aimed at promoting Sanskrit, encouraging the practice of Gita chanting and familiarising students with India's rich spiritual and cultural heritage. The programme was a meaningful way of observing Sanskrit Diwas and nurturing a deeper appreciation for our ancient knowledge traditions.

 

 

Eknathji Punyatithi

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (NEEPCO) Bokuloni observed Eknathji Punyatithi on 22nd August 2026. The programme began with Mangalacharan, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Sri. Prahlad Gogoi, Principal, VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni.

The significance of the day was highlighted, reminding the students of the inspiring life, ideals and contributions of Mananeeya Eknathji Ranade. A group song was presented by the Prayer Group under the guidance of Ranjit Sir. A video showcasing Eknathji’s life journey was also screened, helping the students understand his dedication and service to the nation.

The programme further included a meditation session led by Sima Borah Didi, followed by Pushpanjali  offered by the class captains and teachers. The programme concluded with Shantipath. The observation was meaningful and inspiring, encouraging the students to follow the values of dedication, discipline, service and patriotism exemplified by Eknathji.
