78th Independence Day

On the 15th of August 2024, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, NEEPCO, Bokuloni, commemorated India's 78th Independence Day with patriotic fervor and enthusiasm. The event took place on the school grounds, beginning promptly at 6:40 AM.

The program commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony, where the National Flag was unfurled by  Smt. Meghna Kakoty,  Principal VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. This was a moment of great pride for all present, reflecting the spirit of unity and freedom.

After the flag hoisting, the Principal delivered an inspiring speech, emphasizing the importance of independence and the role of young students in shaping the future of the nation. The NCC Cadets then conducted a Guard of Honour and Parade, showcasing their discipline and dedication.

The students also presented a Taekwondo demonstration, which was followed by another speech by a student of class X Angelina Dowerah, adding a motivational touch to the event.

The highlight of the event was the felicitation of Class X students (2023-24) by the Principal and all teachers, acknowledging their academic achievements.


NEEPCO PROGRAM:

The celebration began promptly at 08:00 A.M. with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Chief General Manager (Tech.) and Head of Project (HOP), AGBPS, NEEPCO. This was followed by a solemn Guard of Honour presented by the NEEPCO Security Personnel, instilling a sense of pride and respect among all attendees.



At 08:10 A.M., the HOP addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of Independence Day and reflecting on the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters. His speech resonated with the audience, reminding everyone of their responsibilities towards the nation.

The highlight of the event was a vibrant Yoga and Cultural Programme performed by the students of VKV, Bokuloni, starting at 08:20 A.M.. The students showcased their talents through various performances that celebrated India's rich cultural heritage. The program was well-received and added a festive spirit to the occasion.

Following the cultural performances, a special felicitation ceremony took place at 08:50 A.M.. The wards of NEEPCO employees who had excelled in academics and other fields were honored, recognizing their hard work and dedication.

The Independence Day celebration at NEEPCO, Bokuloni, was a grand success, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of patriotism and unity. The participation of the students from VKV, Bokuloni, played a significant role in making the event memorable.

National Handloom Day

On August 7, 2024, our Vidyalaya celebrated National Handloom Day with a special event highlighting the rich tradition of handloom weaving. The event was graced by the presence of Smt. Sangeeta Mech and  Smt. Jitu Moni Phukan skilled resource person, who demonstrated the intricate weaving process.

The session was an insightful experience for the students, as Smt. Sangeeta Mech and Smt. Jitu Moni Phukan meticulously explained and showcased the steps involved in weaving, focusing on the creation of the traditional Assamese "Gamusa." The demonstration included practical guidance on using the loom and the various techniques employed in handloom weaving.

In an exciting development, the Vidyalaya announced the introduction of a weaving course starting from November, where students will be taught the art of weaving Gamusas. All necessary materials for the course were presented during the event, ensuring that students will have hands-on experience in this traditional craft.

The celebration was attended by 40 enthusiastic students who were keen to learn and preserve this cultural heritage. The event was conducted under the able guidance of the Smt. Meghna Kakoty, Principal, VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni, who emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting traditional crafts among the younger generation.

This initiative marks a significant step in promoting cultural education and skill development among students, fostering a deeper appreciation for the rich handloom traditions of Assam. The event aimed to foster an appreciation for India's rich tradition of handloom textiles and to provide students with an experiential learning opportunity.

Students showcased a diverse range of handloom-made clothes, representing the vibrant cultural heritage of various regions. The event also featured an interactive session where students learned to identify different handloom materials and weaving techniques. This hands-on experience allowed them to understand the nuances of traditional weaving processes and the importance of preserving these art forms.

VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni remains committed to promoting cultural awareness and experiential learning, and this National Handloom Day celebration was a testament to that mission.

The event aimed to foster an appreciation for India's rich tradition of handloom textiles and to provide students with an experiential learning opportunities.  As a recognition of their efforts and participation, students were acknowledged for their contributions. The celebration was an enriching experience for all, emphasizing the significance of handloom in India's cultural fabric and the importance of supporting this sustainable and traditional industry.

Swami Vivekananda's Punyatithi

On 4th July 2023, our Vidyalaya solemnly observed the Punyatithi of Swami Vivekananda with a series of heartfelt tributes and devotional activities during school hours.

The commemoration began at 11 a.m. with a soulful bhajan session. The serene and melodious atmosphere was set by the harmonious performances of Emon Bhagawati, Chandana Didi, and Sudhir Kumar Sir. Their renditions captured the spiritual essence of the occasion and filled the hearts of all present with reverence and devotion.

Following the bhajan, the teachers performed Pushpanjali, offering flowers in tribute to Swami Ji. This act of devotion was a poignant reminder of Swami Ji's teachings and the profound impact he continues to have on our lives.

The event was a fitting tribute to Swami Ji, fostering a sense of unity and spirituality within the school community. We look forward to continuing to honor Swami Ji's memory through such meaningful observances in the future.
