Our Vidyalaya celebrated the 77th Independence Day with pomp and joy. The students, teachers, parents and well wishers gathered in the school premises at 7:40 am. Mananiya Pranati Roy Didi was also present with us to celebrate the special day. The Principal VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni, Smt. Meghna Kakoty Didi along with Mananiya Pranati Didi hoisted the national flag, immediately followed by the national anthem. Smt. Meghna Didi delivered a speech wherein she spoke about the supreme sacrifices of our ancestors, our grandparents for the sake of whom we achieved our freedom and asked us to remember them so that we can connect with our roots again. She also informed the parents about the initiative taken by our Vidyalaya about the campaign of 'Digital Detox' spreading awareness about the harm done by overuse of technology and urged all to disconnect for a fixed time from all kinds of electrical gadgets and spend time with our near and dear ones to improve interpersonal relationships and build Lok Sampark so that we can reconnect with our roots. The banner of Digital Detox was unveiled by Mananiya Pranati Didi and pamphlets of the same were distributed. Swadesh Mantra was very beautifully delivered by Akangsha Dutta, a Class VII student. A melodious patriotic song was rendered by a group of students and all the other students enjoyed and swayed and waved the Tiranga along with the melody of the song creating a patriotic and heartwarming scene. Tanushka Dutta, a student of Class IX also gave a very inspiring speech. The passed out Class X students were invited to the programme where this year they felicitated their grandparents keeping in mind the theme of 'connecting with our roots'. Sweets were distributed and then everyone proceeded to the NEEPCO office to celebrate the day where our students perfomed in the cultural events. The day was really colourful and enjoyable.
