Raksha Bandhan

On 30th August 2023 the Vidyalaya celebrated our traditional occasion of Raksha Bandhan in a grand manner. This year our Vidyalaya celebrated the auspicious day not only in the campus but also in nearby tea gardens and local areas so as to spread the message of brotherhood by Swami Vivekananda and emphasize on how our society needs protection in every aspect and for that Lok Sampark is important.

In our Vidyalaya, Richa Didi in her speech emphasized the relevance of the day for our institution. She said that in our organization we tie rakhi not only among brothers and sisters but to everyone in the society at large promising protection and realizing oneness. A beautiful and melodious song based on the unbreakable bond of brother and sister was presented by a group of students. After that Smt. Meghna Kakoty, Principal VKV  (NEEPCO) Bokuloni tied rakhi to Swami Vivekananda's portrait and all the students and teachers tied rakhi to each other. The event was more lively and colourful because students tied the rakhis that they made themselves in school during the Rakhi Making Competition. Sweets were distributed to make the moment more sweeter.

At 9:30 am, the celebration in the school got over and the teachers and students who were divided into different groups went to visit the nearby teagardens, shops, NEEPCO office etc. Two tea gardens were visited- Madhuting tea estate and Jodhpur tea estate where teachers and students went in groups to spread the message of brotherhood. Rakhis were tied and Alankrita Didi and Richa Didi explained the importance of Raksha Bandhan and why it is celebrated in such a speacial way in our vidyalaya in both the tea gardens respectively. We also spearheaded the 'Digital Detox' campaign. Uttara Didi and Dipak Sir spoke about  the harmful effects of overuse of technology and urged everyone to stay away from all kinds of electronic gadgets from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and focus more on building interpersonal relationships and spending quality time with family members especially grandparents. We also distributed leaflets.
