Our Vidyalaya celebrated Rakshabandhan and Sanskrit Divas with great zeal and enthusiasm, showcasing the vibrant spirit of Indian traditions. Under the guidance of Principal Smt. Meghna Kakoty, the event began with a special morning assembly, where students and teachers gathered to mark the significance of this auspicious occasion.
The celebration commenced with a symbolic gesture where girls tied Rakhi on
the wrists of the boys, followed by the tying of Rakhi to the statue of Swami
Vivekananda , signifying the bond of protection and the values that he stood for.
Class VII students then took the tradition beyond the school premises by visiting
the Raj Gharali Tea Estate, where they tied Rakhis to the workers, expressing
their gratitude and respect. Simultaneously, another group of students visited
the NEEPCO office and the hospital, extending the Raksha Bandhan celebration to
staff members and healthcare workers, acknowledging their dedication and
service to the community.
Students from classes Balvatika I to X actively participated in crafting
handmade Rakhis using decorative threads, stars, mirrors, pearls, and flowers.
These beautifully crafted Rakhis were later exchanged among peers while
chanting the ‘Raksha Sutra Mantra,’ a prayer for protection and well-being.
The teachers took the opportunity to educate the students about the cultural
and historical significance of Rakshabandhan, emphasizing the importance of
brotherhood, unity, and respect in Indian society.
Smt. Meghna Kakoty, Principal, VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni praised the students' creativity and
enthusiasm, appreciating their active participation in the event. The day
concluded with the distribution of sweets, bringing a sweet end to the
heartwarming celebration.
