State Sports Day Celebration – 2025
Date: 3rd September 2025
Venue: VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni
Every year on 3rd September, Assam observes State
Sports Day to honor the legendary sprinter Arjuna Awardee Bhogeswar Baruah, the
first Assamese athlete to win a Gold Medal at an international event — the 1966
Asian Games in Bangkok.
This year, VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni observed the day with
great enthusiasm. The programme began with Manglacharan by Sanjukta Kar from Class
I. Following this, Darshit Gogoi from Class II delivered the Welcome
Speech and spoke about the significance of the day.
To inspire the students, Bir Kumar Sir and Pranshu Didi
addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of sports, games, and
regular exercise in building a healthy body and mind.
A Marathon Race was then organized for the students
from Bal Vatika-II to Class II, conducted class-wise. The event was filled with
excitement and competitive spirit. The winners were honored with medals, which
motivated all the participants.
The programme concluded with Shantipath, spreading
positivity and discipline among the students.
The observance of State Sports Day 2025 not only paid
tribute to the sporting legend Bhogeswar Baruah but also encouraged students to
embrace fitness, discipline, and sportsmanship in their daily lives.
