Birsa Munda Jayanti - Janajatya Gaurav Diwas

Janajatya Gaurav Diwas is a day( 15th November )dedicated to honouring the legacy of Birsa Munda, a prominent tribal leader and freedom fighter. Celebrated annually, it recognizes the contributions and cultural heritage of tribal communities in India. Birsa Munda, known for his role in the Indian independence movement, is remembered for his dedication to the rights and welfare of tribal people.

In celebration of this spirit, children from VKV Bokuloni undertook a study on the livelihood of the Chai Janajati community in Assam. This study provided insights into the traditional practices of tea cultivation, a crucial aspect of the community’s life. The students learned about the proficiency required in plucking tea leaves, the process of harvesting, and the cultural significance of tea production. This hands-on learning experience helped them appreciate the skills and hard work involved while fostering a deeper understanding of the Chai Janajati's way of life and their contributions to the tea industry.
