National Mathematics Day

 VKV(NEEPCO) Bokuloni celebrated National Mathematics Day on 23rd December 2024 in school campus.

It started with lighting of lamp to pay tribute to great Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.

Students of classes 5 to 7 presented model exhibition on the topic' Math's in our daily life'. Class 9 prepared various mathematics activities like dart game, treasure hunt, ring toss and many more games for the students of classes 1 to 4 and teachers. Nearby schools were also invited.


All the students and teachers took part and practiced math's in various manner through activities, game and many more.

Parivar Sammelan on the occasion of Gita Jayanti

On 11th December 2024, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya NEEPCO Bokuloni observed Gita Jayanti with great enthusiasm and devotion by organizing a Parivar Sammelan under the guidance of Principal Smt. Meghna Kakoty.

Morning Assembly Program

The celebration commenced during the morning assembly, where the students participated in chanting selected shlokas from the Bhagavad Gita. Their heartfelt recitation set a serene and spiritual tone for the day. Jyotsna Srivastava Didi, one of our senior teachers, addressed the students, emphasizing the significance of Gita Jayanti. She narrated an inspiring story that beautifully illustrated the relevance of the Bhagavad Gita's teachings in our daily lives, leaving the students deeply motivated.


Evening Parivar Sammelan Program

The evening Parivar Sammelan brought together students, parents, and staff to celebrate the occasion in a more comprehensive manner. The event was anchored by Sabnam Kotoky, who guided the proceedings with great enthusiasm. The program started with the auspicious Manglacharan, invoking blessings.

Smt. Meghna Kakoty, the Principal of VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni, and Jyotsna Srivastava Didi jointly unveiled the Sanskrit board, which added to the cultural and educational value of the event.


Highlights of the Evening Program

  1. Gita Chanting: Students of Classes V and VI, and class  VIII recited shlokas with remarkable coordination and devotion.
  2. Motivational Speech: By Jyotsna Srivastava Didi.
  3. Short Video Screening: A motivational video was screened for the audience, highlighting the timeless teachings of the Gita.
  4. Cultural Presentation: Students sang melodious songs dedicated to the Bhagavad Gita, enriching the atmosphere with devotion.
  5. Parent Interaction: A group discussion session was done which encouraged parents to share their perspectives on the topic "Importance of Bhagavad Gita in Our Daily Life."
  6. Outdoor Games: Fun outdoor activities i.e Kendra  Games were organized to engage participants and foster community bonding.

The program concluded with a collective Shanti Path, invoking peace and harmony. All attendees greatly appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers in making the event meaningful and memorable.

Acknowledgment: The successful organization of this event was a result of collective efforts. Special thanks to the teachers, parents ,students and all supporting staff for their dedicated contributions.

This celebration not only reinforced the moral and spiritual teachings of the Bhagavad Gita but also strengthened the bond between students, parents, and teachers, reflecting the true essence of Parivar Sammelan.

Asom Divas

Observation of Asom Divas at VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni

On December 2, 2024, VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni observed Asom Divas during the morning assembly with great enthusiasm and reverence. The event commemorated the legacy of Swargadeo Sukapha, the founder of the Ahom dynasty, who laid the foundation of Assam’s rich cultural heritage.

The program began with a soulful rendition of a song dedicated to Sukapha by Aradhya Priyambada Pathak of Class IV, captivating everyone with her melodious voice. Following this, Richa Gogoi Didi delivered an insightful speech on the significance of Asom Divas. She beautifully highlighted the historical importance of Sukapha and the origin of the name "Assam," capturing the essence of unity and harmony he brought to the state.

A special focus was given to Sukapha’s contributions, with a visual emphasis on his portrait, adding a distinct charm to the event. The assembly concluded with a renewed sense of pride and appreciation for Assam’s glorious past.

This observance served as a meaningful opportunity for students and teachers to reflect on their cultural roots and celebrate the unity in diversity that defines Assam.



9th Vivekananda Kendra Krida Mahotsav (Cluster-1)

The 9th Vivekananda Kendra Krida Mahotsav (VKM), a highly anticipated cluster-level event, was held from November 23 to 25, 2024. This event celebrated the vision of Vivekananda Kendra Shiksha Prasar Vibhag (VKSPV) of promoting five-fold development and the holistic growth of students through sports and cultural activities.


Event Overview

The Mahotsav commenced with a vibrant inaugural ceremony at VKV Tingrai on November 24, featuring a grand march by 24 troops representing participating schools. The valedictory ceremony, held on November 25 at VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni, marked the culmination of three days of spirited sports competitions and cultural programs.

Special Attractions

The program was graced by several esteemed guests, whose presence added to the grandeur of the Mahotsav:

     Mananeeya Bhanudas Ji, a revered figure, whose participation inspired all attendees.

    • Sri Opang Ering Sir, Head of Plant (HOP), AGBP NEEPCO, was a distinguished guest at the event.

     Su.Sri Pranati Roy Didi, a guiding force for Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas.

     Rebati Baideo and Sovarani Baideo, who contributed their support and encouragement.

     Suvan Seth Sir, who played a key role in organizing the event.


Key Highlights

     Inaugural Event: VKV Tingrai hosted the opening ceremony, setting the tone for the Mahotsav with disciplined marches and enthusiastic participation.

    • Competitions: Indoor and outdoor games, including table tennis, badminton, and yoga ,chess , Field and track event , kho-kho , Kabaddi , were hosted across both venues.

   • Cultural Programs: The closing ceremony at Bokuloni featured performances that highlighted India’s rich cultural heritage:

            o Group Song: Performed by 20 students.

            o Khool Performance: Presented by 18 students.

            o Sattriya Dance: Showcased by 14 students.

            o Instrumental Orchestra: Played by 8–9 students.

Special Additions

    • Introduction of Yoga: For the first time in VKM history, yoga was officially included, underscoring the event's focus on holistic development.

    • Cluster-Based Format: To ensure better management of participants, the event followed a cluster-based approach this year.

Logistics and Arrangements

    • Participation: Over 350 students from various VKVs joined the event, supported by escort teachers and officials.

    • Food Arrangements: Packed dinners were provided for students traveling late, ensuring their comfort and safety.

     Discipline: Vidyalaya Managing Committee members ensured smooth coordination during the ceremonies.

    • Best School in Sports: VKV Sadiya.

Valedictory Ceremony

The closing event began at 5:30 PM with an inspiring cultural program, followed by the much-awaited prize distribution.

This year’s Mahotsav was a grand success, celebrating sportsmanship, discipline, cultural vibrancy, and the invaluable contributions of the special guests, leaving a lasting impression on all participants and attendees.

Himanshu Jyoti Neog 

The momentos for Discipline are presented in the memory of an ex-student Himangshu Jyoti Neog who studied in this Vidyalaya since 2002-2008. He started higher education after class XII in Jorhat Institute of Science and technology in Electronics and Telecommunication. Later due to some inconvenience faced by him , he again took admission in Electronics and Telecommunication , a branch of Engineering in Guwahati University Institute of Science and technology in 2017 and continued. In 2008 in n 3rd Semester,he passed away due to some unknown illness. He had a very good academic career with so much of achievements.

Sadhana Diwas Celebration

On the occasion of Sadhana Diwas, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya NEEPCO Bokuloni organized a series of enriching activities to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mananeeya Eknathji Ranade, the founder of Vivekananda Kendra.

The day began with a solemn Pushpanjali and the recitation of Hanuman Chalisa after the morning assembly, where the entire school community paid tribute to Eknathji’s life and mission.



In the afternoon, a Swadhyay session was organized for the parents of students from Balvatika I to Class IX. This session was centered on the book Sadhana of Service by Mananeeya Eknathji Ranade, focusing on the special chapter One Life, One Mission. Parents actively participated in the session, presenting their thoughts and reflections on the chapter. Guided group discussions were held, involving parents and teachers, fostering an environment of collective learning and understanding.

The event was conducted under the leadership of the school’s Principal, Smt. Meghna Kakoty, and was graced by the presence of Su. Sri Pranati Roy Didi, RAO, VKSPV.

The program successfully instilled the values and teachings of Eknathji, inspiring everyone to strive for dedication and service in their respective lives.

Children's Day Celebration at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya NEEPCO Bokuloni

On 14th November, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya NEEPCO Bokuloni celebrated Children’s Day with great joy and enthusiasm. A series of games and activities were organized, creating an engaging and memorable experience for students from Balvatika I to Class X. Parents of Balvatika I to Class III were requested to send their children with only a light tiffin and a water bottle, with no other school materials required for the day.

The celebration began with a special assembly conducted by the teachers. Students from Balvatika I to Class III participated in Mass PT exercises, displaying energy and enthusiasm. Afterward, they engaged in a variety of fun games, including musical chairs and running races, which brought smiles and laughter to everyone. A small token of love was presented to all the students, along with light snacks, adding to the festive atmosphere.


For older students, different games were organized across various venues:

 Ring the Object for Classes IV & V in the Assembly Hall.

Dart Game for Classes VI & VII in Class I.

Quiz for Classes VIII, IX, & X in Class III.

The highlight of the event was the Heritage Quiz, which was conducted with great success, allowing students to showcase their knowledge of cultural heritage and history.

The entire event was successfully completed under the guidance of the school principal, Smt. Meghna Kakoty, and the enthusiastic participation of students made it a joyful Children’s Day celebration.

Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Diwas

On the solemn occasion of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika's death anniversary, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya NEEPCO Bokuloni organized a two-day workshop on 4th and 5th November to commemorate the legendary singer and poet. The aim was to familiarize students with his timeless compositions and pay tribute to his contributions to Indian music and culture.


Under the guidance of Ranjit Domai Sir, students from Classes 1 to 10 actively participated in the workshop, engaging in discussions on Dr. Hazarika’s impactful lyrics and melodies, which reflect the essence of Assamese culture and human emotions. Throughout the two days, students were introduced to several of his iconic songs, exploring the depth and message behind each composition. This was an inspiring opportunity for them to connect with Dr. Hazarika's musical legacy and the values he stood for.


On the final day, selected students performed individual songs of Dr. Hazarika’s, showcasing the skills they developed during the workshop. These performances were a heartfelt tribute to the late maestro, celebrating his enduring influence and ensuring that the significance of his work lives on in future generations. The workshop was not only a learning experience but also a memorable homage to Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, enriching the students' cultural awareness and instilling pride in Assam’s musical heritage.

Building a Greener Tommorow (IT - Green Skill) Exhibition

Title:  "Building a Greener Tomorrow: An Exhibition on Sustainable Development Goals"

As part of our school's commitment to environmental awareness and sustainability, Class X organized a Sustainable Development Exhibition as part of their multi-disciplinary IT project on the chapter Green Skills. The event aimed to educate students about the importance of sustainable living and showcase innovative solutions for a greener future. Along with the exhibition they presented their models through PowerPoint Presentation and proper documentation using Libre Office.


Exhibition Highlights:

1. Renewable Energy: Students displayed models and presentations on solar, wind, and hydro energy.

2. Waste Management: Exhibits showcased recycling methods, composting, and waste reduction strategies.

3. Sustainable Transportation: Displays featured electric and hybrid vehicles, cycling, and walking.

The Sustainable Development Exhibition was a resounding success, empowering our school community to contribute to a greener future. We look forward to continuing this initiative and inspiring positive change.

Celebration of Shastri Jayanti and Gandhi Jayanti

On October 2nd, 2024, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya NEEPCO Bokuloni celebrated Gandhi Jayanti and the birth anniversary of Lal Bahadur Shastri with two remarkable events: the "Go As You Like" competition for Classes IX and X, and a Swachhata Abhiyan led by the teachers.

The Go As You Like competition revolved around the theme Satyamev Jayate - Importance of Truthfulness in Our Life. Students enthusiastically participated by dressing up as their favorite Freedom Fighters and delivering one-minute speeches explaining their attire and the importance of their chosen leader. The event aimed to instill the values of truthfulness and integrity in young minds, as championed by Mahatma Gandhi and other great leaders. The creativity and dedication shown by the students brought to life the inspiring stories of India's Freedom Fighters.

Participation was mandatory for all students, including those engaged in sports, and the marks obtained in this competition will contribute to their Social Science Internal Assessment. The event provided a wonderful opportunity for students to delve into the history of India's freedom movement while reflecting on the significance of truth and honesty in today’s society.

In addition to the competition, the teachers of VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni actively participated in a Swachhata Abhiyan on the occasion of Gandhi and Shastri Jayanti. The cleanliness drive was aimed at honoring Mahatma Gandhi's vision of cleanliness and Lal Bahadur Shastri's dedication to simplicity and service. The teachers’ involvement underscored the school’s commitment to promoting a clean and healthy environment, setting an example for the students to follow.

The celebration of Gandhi and Shastri Jayanti through these events was a meaningful way to honor the legacy of these great leaders. It fostered a sense of patriotism, responsibility, and the importance of truthfulness and cleanliness among the teachers .

Universal Brotherhood Day

On the occasion of Universal Brotherhood Day, a series of enlightening programs and activities were organized to promote the values of unity, cooperation, and mutual understanding among students and educators. The event spanned three institutions: Ekalavya Junior College, Bhadoi Junior College, and Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV) NEEPCO Bokuloni.

Events at Ekalavya Junior College



A team of teachers visited Ekalavya Junior College, where a total of 60 participants, including students and teachers, attended the program. The event was anchored by
Shabnam Kataky, and the elocution competition was judged by Richa Gogoi and Ramen Bhatra, a teacher from Ekalavya Junior College.

Highlights of the event included:

  • Introduction to Vivekananda Kendra and its activities.
  • A swadhyay (self-study) session on "Bharat Jagran" focusing on India's cultural and spiritual awakening.
  • The following participants were awarded for their outstanding performances:
    • 1st Prize: Amrin Ahmed
    • 2nd Prize: Deepshikha Mech
    • 3rd Prize: Bhoben Sonowal

Events at Bhadoi Junior College


At Bhadoi Junior College, a similar program was conducted, where the students gave a special presentation. The event focused on Vivekananda Kendra's activities and ideology.
Papu Didi shared the significance of the event, while Samar Chiring Sir spoke on the broader mission of Vivekananda Kendra. A special award was presented to a deserving student, recognizing their contribution to the day's activities.

Celebrations at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya NEEPCO Bokuloni

At VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni, the school conducted its Universal Brotherhood Day celebration in the presence of students, parents, and distinguished guests.

The program began with Mangalacharan followed by a welcome speech by the school's principal, Smt. Meghna Kakoty Didi. Other highlights included:

  • A group song by the students.
  • A speech on Swami Vivekananda delivered by Enistha Chetia.
  • A short video presentation showcasing the achievements of the invited guests.
  • Felicitation ceremony where guests shared their experiences and inspired the audience:
    • Dr. Prabin Kumar Baruah, a pediatrician with over 13 years of service in Assam government hospitals and then 18 years in Coal India Ltd. , from where he retired as a Deputy CMO. Currently he is an active member of the Indian Association of Pediatrics and the Indian Medical Association.
    • Dr. Prashanta Saikia, a dedicated educator and secretary of the Rural Development Committee at Chi-Chia Girls School, known for promoting discipline and moral values among students.
    • Dr. Nabin Boruah, an environmentalist and OIL Duliajan employee, renowned for his efforts in preserving nature and raising environmental awareness among youth.

As a special highlight of the day, Dr. Nabin Boruah planted various tree saplings on the Vidyalaya premises, adding significant meaning to the event. This act symbolized the values of growth, sustainability, and environmental responsibility, aligning with the message of unity and service conveyed throughout the program.

The event concluded with a  Shanti Path by the students.

Conclusion

The Universal Brotherhood Day celebration across these institutions was a great success, fostering the spirit of unity and brotherhood among the participants. Through the active involvement of students, teachers, and the esteemed guests, the message of service to society, environmental consciousness, and cultural upliftment was effectively conveyed.

Teachers' Day Celebration

The Teachers' Day celebration at VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni was a remarkable event, organized and led entirely by the students of Class X.

Among the various activities organized, the most touching moment was when the children washed the feet of their teachers and applied tilakam as a mark of respect and reverence. This gesture was a powerful reminder of the deep-rooted cultural values. The celebration commenced with the morning assembly, which was conducted by Class X students, who took charge of all the activities, from leading the prayers to managing the day's programme. A special timetable was set for the day, and the students seamlessly took over the teaching responsibilities, delivering lessons with enthusiasm and dedication.

The presence of parents added a special touch to the occasion, as they came to show their respect and gratitude towards the teachers. Their involvement further underscored the importance of the day and the deep bond between teachers, students, and the community.

 At 11:15 AM, the main program began with the traditional Mangalacharan, invoking blessings for the success of the event. This was followed by a speech delivered by Sudip Sir who eloquently spoke about the significance of Teachers' Day. Sir highlighted the reasons why one should aspire to become a teacher, emphasizing the noble role teachers play in shaping the future of society. Sudip Sir’s  speech was enriched with numerous examples that underscored the importance of education and the vital role of teachers.

The students then presented a short video accompanied by a song that beautifully portrayed the significance of teachers in our lives. The video was followed by a lively dance performance that added energy and vibrancy to the celebration.

An inspiring moment in the program was when Kabita Thapa, a student of Class X, shared her personal experience and thoughts on the day. Her heartfelt words resonated with everyone present, as she expressed her gratitude towards her teachers and the lessons they imparted.

As a token of appreciation, the students addressed the teachers with special titles, acknowledging their unique qualities and contributions. The day also included a segment where students were recognized for their exceptional performance in conducting the day's classes, adding a sense of achievement and encouragement.

The program concluded with the Shanti Path, followed by the Kendra Prarthana, marking the end of a memorable and meaningful celebration. 

Mahapurush Sankardev Tithi

Our Vidyalaya observed Sankardev Tithi on 4th September 2024 with full enthusiasm. The event took place in the school assembly hall, commencing at 8:15 am. The celebration was anchored by Chandana Didi, setting the tone for a solemn and spiritually uplifting program.

The event began with a Mangalacharan, performed by Chandana Didi, followed by a thought-provoking speech delivered by Shabnam Didi. The atmosphere was filled with devotion as Ranjit Sir, Barnali Didi, and students led the gathering in Prathana and Diha Naam. The event concluded with a Shanti Path, led by Ranjit Sir, invoking peace and tranquility.

The event was a tribute to the legacy of Srimanta Sankardev, with students and teachers alike participating actively.

This celebration not only highlighted the cultural richness of Assam but also instilled the values and teachings of Srimanta Sankardev in the hearts of the students. The school is committed to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of the region through such meaningful celebrations.

Workshop on Question Paper Formatting

Our Vidyalaya organized a workshop on formatting Question Papers on 2nd September 2024. The design, layout and the structure to be maintained were demonstrated for everyone's perusal.

State Sports Day

Abhiruchi Sports Day is celebrated in Assam on September 3rd every year to honour Sri. Bhogeswar Baruah, the first Arjuna awardee from Assam. Our Vidyalaya also celebrated the Sate Sports Day with the same zeal.

Calligraphy Classes Conducted at VKV NEEPCO Bokuloni from – 26/08/24 to 02/09/24

Under the guidance of Smt. Meghna Kakoty, Principal of VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni, our Vidyalaya had the privilege of hosting an enriching Calligraphy Workshop. This workshop was conducted by two highly skilled and experienced professionals: Sri. Shubham Kumar and Sri. Rachit Srivastava, both of whom are 4th-year students at Techno Institute of Higher Studies.

 About the Instructors:

Shubham Kumar is a BVA Applied Art student specializing in Brand Strategy, Branding, Typography, and Design. He has honed his skills through "The Future," an online learning platform led by Chris Do, and is a professional Motion Designer, Graphic Designer, and Brand Strategist. Shubham is also a teacher at MICS while continuing his studies.

Rachit Srivastava specializes in Character Designing and Painting, both digital and manual. He is currently working with the Gujarat Government on the SDG Jamnagar Coordination project titled "Swaccha Jamnagar."

Workshop Overview:

The calligraphy classes of one week were a blend of art and skill-building exercises. The instructors introduced students to various calligraphy techniques, sketching methods, and layout design principles. The workshop was designed to cater to students of different age groups, allowing them to explore the beauty of handwriting and the art of calligraphy.

Calligraphy Techniques: Different styles of calligraphy were taught, focusing on brush strokes, penmanship, and the use of different tools.

Sketching and Layout Design: The instructors guided students through basic sketching techniques and the fundamentals of layout design, which are crucial in creating aesthetically pleasing compositions.

The workshop had a significant impact on the students, sparking a newfound interest in the art of calligraphy and design. Many students expressed their eagerness to continue practicing these skills and exploring creative possibilities in typography and layout design.

The workshop concluded with a display of the students' work, showcasing their progress and creativity. The efforts of Shubham Kumar and Rachit Srivastava were deeply appreciated by both students and faculty, as their expertise brought a fresh perspective to the art education at VKV (NEEPCO) Bokuloni.

National Sports Day



On 29th of August 2024 our Vidyalaya celebrated National Sports Day in the fond memory of Major Dhyan Chand with a total participant of 45 students. The programme started with Mangalacharan followed by Pushpanjali in front of the picture of the great hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand. Jumon Chetia,  a student of Class X delivered a speech on the occasion of Sports Day. It was followed by a motivating  speech on sports by Smt. Meghna Kakoty, Principal VKV(NEEPCO) Bokuloni. Anurag Gogoi from class VII expressed a few words about the benefits of sport. After the formal session, a friendly match between kho-kho players was conducted followed by a friendly match between volleyball and kho-kho players. At the end prizes were distributed to the winners.

National Award to our Cluster Resource Center Coordinator (CRCC)

Congratulations to Shri Dipen Khanikar Sir, Assistant Teacher from Chi Chia Bokuloni Girl's High School, Dibrugarh district for receiving the National Teachers' Award 2024. He is the Cluster Resource Center Coordinator of our area and guided VKV(NEEPCO) Bokuloni to conduct workshops on innovative teaching approaches .

His innovative teaching methods made a positive impact on students, such as joyful, toy-based, community-based, and ICT-based learning.

His hard work has paid off with this well-deserved honor.

Notepads Cover designed by Students

Students of classes VI to X designed beautiful notepad covers to be gifted to participants of meetings and seminars held in  our Vidyalaya under the guidance of Samar Chiring Sir and Ajoy Rajkhowa Sir (Fine Arts, Soft Skill). They were first given away in the All Assam & Nagaland Principals' Meet 2024 held at our Vidyalaya on 22nd and 23rd August 2024. Everyone appreciated and were impressed by the creativity of students.
